Default Dear my350z.com staff

MY350z.com Staff,

After sitting and thinking very hard for the past 9 days and watching Fast and Furious 3 clips, I have came to the conclusion that the www.MY350Z.com should be prepared to allow a PREMIER MEMBERS BOARD OF DIRECTORS. The PREMIER MEMBER board of directors would have 4-5 premier members monitor some of the new people coming onto the site.
When a new member joins they should have a 90 day probation on the forum and this is what the P.M.B.O.D (Premiere Board of Directors) would monitor. We would bring to your attention the "Problem Members" so you guys could review and see what should be done.
I think right now we have a nice mix of people on the boards that will soon change direction after this movie. I was a longtime member of supraforums and saw what happened after this movie. TOTAL A$$holes began joining the boards and almost everyone that was any kind of help on the forums left. Please take this into consideration because alot of members are already getting timid of the people soon to join the board and this would take some weight off of your shoulders.

Thanks,
EM-EFER

First of all, there should be a FAQ STICKY at the top of EVERY forum. This FAQ should include posting guidelines such as "SEARCH BEFORE POSTING" and "DO NOT REPOST TOPICS" "DO NOT REPOST LOCKED THREADS" etc.

One more suggestion for FAQ. "If you want to add to or bump an old thread, PLEASE CONTRIBUTE something of value to the thread."

Furthermore there should be a Note or a sticky at the top of each forum that says "READ FAQ BEFORE POSTING"

Finally the sticky should be an open thread where the FIRST post contains the actual FAQ, then the subsequent posts include FAQ suggestions. Then a moderator can come in, read the suggestions, and add them to the FAQ (first post) then delete the suggestion. (I hope that made sense).

Right now the FAQ is small and out of the way, and no one will be bothered to click on it.

I don't know if a board of directors is necessary, but either ONE of TWO things should happen:

1: There could be a few more members with the moderator-like privelige of locking bad threads / repost threads.
2: Either that, or more moderators need to be on-the-ball about locking stupid threads, complete with an explanation such as:

"Locked, PLEASE READ FAQ BEFORE POSTING (_Link_)"

I think WAY too many mind-fukcingly retarded threads are being allowed to continue, which usually results in a lot of flaming and worthless rehashing of stupid topics. My sense is that there are not enough moderators, or moderators are somehow "too nice" about not locking threads.

Good call MFer

I think we're making too big a deal about a simple movie. So what if new people come in. Don't we want that? The moderators can ban who they like when they like.

I think what makes this site so special is that we have a lot of different people with different backgrounds and ages and we all come together because we have our Zs in common. If you simply want to ban racing discussions, the moderator can do that too.

I remember not too long ago when I joined my350z.com (have actually considered becoming premier lately too), I asked some pretty stupid questions. I try to remember that when I reply to a post that I now think may sound stupid or has been covered a bazillion times.

This is what moderators are for. And, if you have any experience as a moderator, you'd know that the #1 rule is to keep be impartial and "moderate" when resolving situations between forum members. From what I've seen in the Premier Member section of this site and other threads, I don't believe that moderator privileges would be something that certain members could refrain from abusing...

Besides, ricer or not, anyone has the right to post any 350z related topics here that do not break the terms of service. And contrary to the liking of many current members, ricers still willingly pay money and generate revenue for the site.
