Default New Users selling items...

Shouldn't they have to wait for a certain number of post before they can sell anything? With all this scamming going on since the IB take over I think there should be some rule in place for new members. 100 post and 2 + feedbacks?

Here are the rules, set in place for some time now:

You need to meet at least one of the following requirements to post:
Member of the site for at least 45 days
Post Count of 300 or more
Be a Premier Member. To become a Premier member click here.
If you find any infractions of these rules or a for sale thread improperly placed(wrong section), use the "report post" button. We will take care of the thread accordingly. Alot of times, new users will try and sell items in a tech section because they could not start a thread in the classified section. We delete these threads.

Scammers FTL

Im lucky enough to not been riped off yet but i would definitely like a post limit and feedback rating before they can list things.

Im not shure that a post limit is a great idea. I dont post verymuch at all but I visit this site all the time, actually its the only nissan site I look at. I have bought a few items with good results. I understand your concerns regarding scammers but just because someone dosent feel the need to add thier little comments in every thread dosent mean that there not a member of the Z community.

I dont know, maybe im just an idealist.

That's why it's not just based on a post count, you can also become eligable after 45 days.

What happens when you get ripped off by old members with lots of posts and itrader.. arg.
I've probably lost more money than I've saved using the vendors here.

Yes sir, report them. We'll shut em' down in a heart beat! We had to pull a thread this weekend. A gentlman was trying to sell a large bulk of antennas. While I have no quarrels with turning a buck or two, I do have a problem with large profitable solicitations and not being a vendor. We try our best to protect the rights and priviledges of the vendors. If you guys pay sponsorship fees, you should be the only ones allowed to make large solicitations.

I'm a bit confused Stan. Are you saying that you've been scammed more and lost more money from our vendors than private sellers?

Oh no- the one scam from a private person probably cost me more than the amount I've saved using vendors.

I think that requiring an iTrader rating will make it a lot tougher for scammers to get on and steal a quick buck. Make them have to spend some money first will make it hard on them.

I believe this is an excellent idea. However, it can also be deemed as an unfair business practice. It can be said we are unfairly "forcing" our members to make purchases from our vendors in exchange for selling priviledges.

I know if someone cried about us enforcing this, it would be a b!tch move, but you know someone is going to whine about it.

Instead of whining, wouldn't it have been better to take a look at the Marketplace to see what the rules were there first? I mean, it IS stickied and viewable in all categories there for a reason.

Also, correlation is NOT the same thing as causation. IB has nothing to do with the scammers that have been on the rise lately. Stop blaming the wrong people.
