Default 370Z Mania!

Just logged in and saw all the new 370Z sub-forums that have been added. It got me thinking: Have these forums lost focus? This is by no means me unleashing a tirade against our planning team; I have a lot of respect for what you do. But as a marketing professional, I spend all my energy at work ensuring my assigned product lines maintain a laser sharp focus on the target market to ensure brand identity is upheld.

Our site seems to have come to a crossroads. The new Z is out and that is where a lot of the new "big money" will be. As time goes by the Z33 will get less and less attention from big aftermarket suppliers since their target market will comprise of people with markedly less discretionary income (as is always the case with buyers of inexpensive cars; a destination Z33 is naturally now headed in). As forums run on sponsors and big sponsors will be shifting to Z34 in greater numbers, I can easily understand why it is being given greater coverage here. But we are forgetting that these forums are called my350Z. Aren't you afraid of diluting the 350Z brand over 370Z? So unless we change the forum name to TheZCar.com or something similar, shouldn't all this effort be focused on my370Z.com?

I agree. This is a 350Z site. We DON'T need the 370z BS on this site. Create their own site and leave it off. Just like the GT-R stuff you guys got rid of. It is no different.

i dont even think the tech area should be here. The 2009 370z part i can live with but a whole basically forum dedicated to a car that the site isnt for is kinda stupid. We need a section under the 370z part for a whole forum for GTR's now. Everyone thank IB for this lovely addition.

I have to agree, even though I welcome the extra 370z info.

Had we started these forums off like 6speedonline or NASIOC then it would be cool to have all the makes under one banner. This forum has grown huge with just the Z33 chassis alone. Where do you draw the line before it gets out of hand?

240sx
G35
GTR
370z

I love reading about these cars and getting insight from their owners, but it will get ugly in the long run. And even though general forums have their place, I would hate to see this 350z forum get diluted.

I have no problem with the 2009 370z forum part. The tech area that is basically the whole forum doubled needs to go.

IB fuggin more **** up.

^^^ Yeah for sure.
The general forums for the sister cars are great...but I don't think 99% of the Z guys here are planning on buying a 500 dollar carbon fiber vent cover for the GTR.

I agree with the OP that the site revisions are not relevant to the vast majority of us who frequent the boards to discuss 350Z related issues, and woud occasionally surf the 370z or GTR threads to gauge progress of the new models.

IMO the new sub-forums for the 370z are just overkill and should be saved for a dedicated my370z site.
