Haha, I posted on the Feedback forum that the only difference between the old slow site and the new fast site is that the main index no longer counts new posts and threads (above the "View New Posts" link). Looks like the process of counting really hurt the database's response time. Good riddens to it. I never really looked at the numbers anyway.
