my350z.com needs to be shut down until the virus source is found and dealt with. I was just browsing last night and I got the virus. I have McAfee Security but it did not and does not detect it. I have done the removal instructions and it does not work. The PC Doctor program suggested does not remove the threats unless you pay for it.

The smart and proactive decision would be to lock down the site server from internet users until it is found.

I got a better idea - let shut down the whole interwebnets until all viruses have been removed.

No its pathetic that it has not been taken care of. The resposible thing for the site admin/owners to do is save their members the risk and headache of getting it. Not warn them. Its like walmart letting a rabid dog roam through their store knowing it may bite customers. The members are the reason of the income..no members, no sponsers/advertising, no income.

Ridding of the virus is the ethical and resposible thing to do. The only reason I'm on is via my phone.

 

First of all, there's already a thread dedicated to this already, so why create another thread right above the thread that's already discussing the same topic? Your useless thread will be closed (refer to link below if you have any questions or concerns or comments).

Secondly, IB has been on this since it was reported. They still have not yet found anything and cannot locate the malicious code anywhere. It is very likely that a member had/has some sort of coding in their post, sig, avatar, etc that could have led to this chaos. It's not like IB or the forum created the virus and let it loose; somebody brought it in without us knowing and we still can't find any traces of it.

Lastly, I was notified that Microsoft's Windows Security Essential can also get rid of this virus, assuming you have a valid copy of Windows. Here's the link:
