Default Suggestion For Sale

Okay on the UK 350z forum when items are sold the OP will update the title of the thread with *SOLD* this gives a clear indication of any thread which really isn't worth reading because it's sold. Unless it's for a purpose of reviewing sold item prices.

Is this possible?

If the user updates the first post in the thread to state that it is SOLD the staff will close it shortly afterwards.

Also, this policy is already in our marketplace rules announcement:

https://my350z.com/forum/private-cla...fieds-194.html

Marketplace - Private Classifieds Posting Rules

If your item is sold simply state that it has been sold so others, including mods who close these threads, know.

Final clarification, if the first post is updated, users won't know this without opening the thread?

I have opened a large number of FS threads only to find the item sold. Updating the thread title with *sold* will surely help members to navigate?

I'm just thinking something like this as exampled on the UK forum which helps you navigate open sales against closed sales. Like on your forum closed threads are marked, but access to view is still granted.

If an item is sold an Admin/Moderator will close the thread (if the original poster has not already done so). If you happen stumble across a thread that has not yet been closed, report the thread and it will be closed upon an Admin/Moderator getting notice.

The issue (if it can be called that) here is that the UK section (and most regional forums) do not get enough traffic to merit having its own dedicated Moderator. That's why even when the items are sold, the thread remains as-is most of the time.

Also, regular members cannot close their own threads, but there are no time limits on editing threads.

As "verdict." above said, report the thread and a mod will come by to close the thread.

Right, so are you saying... When the thread is locked/closed the thread no longer appears in the thread list, if so that's a fair enough resolution.

Can I ask another question

How can I view threads quickly that I have previously posted against. Is there a quick way of locating my post, to save searching. Is this a feature within "premiere" membership as regular doesn't have a quick button/link to my recent posts?

Cheers Guys - like to keep ya busy

When a thread is closed, it's still visible. When it's deleted, it's no longer visible. We don't delete Market threads for the purposes of allowing the members to research previous market prices for various items.

To find threads you posted in, go to the USER CP (near the top left of every page).

So the key for spotting a for sale thread which has been sold is to watch out for it's closure status. Ok fair enough, would still be handy for the title to show *sold* as well but no problem.

Cool I'll check out the CP area - thanks for the heads up
