I liked the old theme better but this one is not that bad. The old theme was just faster and smoother because it used way less images and background images.

Good guess but the version of vBulletin remained the same. Even if they did upgrade to vB4 they could have easily ported over the old theme.



IB, one thing you can do is to optimize this theme farther. For example, let's take this background image: https://my350z.com/forum/blueevolution/misc/catbg.gif

this image doesn't really need to be 500 px wide. You can just make it 1 px wide and it would still have the same effect since it's set to repeat-x. Small changes like this would make this theme load even faster.

It would also be nice to have a slightly different link color in posts so that the user actually knows there is links within a post.

 

I requested for a lot of what's mentioned here to be changed already and most (if not all) should already be in effect.

BTW, you guys should use your User CP, instead of My Recent Posts or whatever else you were using. If you want to see new posts, you can always check "Today's posts" under "Quick Links" and it will give you a giant list.

Also, if you want to revert back to the old layout, scroll all the way down and look in the bottom left corner. You will see a drop down menu and it should currently be on "---- My350_Updated" (if not "Quick Style Chooser"). Change that to "MY35037" and you're back to the old layout.



Just a brief history.. The site was long overdue for a change and IB, along with some of the older Admins, attempted to make some changes over the last several years. However, each time, the staff members always delayed or disagreed with the changes. This time, I guess it was just inevitable, but IB is doing a great job listening to all the feedback.

 

subscribed threads should be big button and not under "quick links"

Personally, I pretty much only use User CP and Today's Posts.

just my 2 cents.. i never surf a specific forum.. i think you miss out alot on what people are actualy currently talking about in that manner.. I always clicked "newest discussions" from the home page.. and it appears we still have that downsizxed column.. ( newest discussions/ popular discussions) .. BUT THERES NO LINK TO CLICK ANYMORE FOR THEM?

Can we add that back in at all guys?

you rock bro. Thanks for making sure we all have access to the old skin. I can do with a lot of the changes but screwing with the visuals and making it bleeding red theme will not fly at work or with my eyes. Keep up the good work and hit me up when u free.

 

Thanks! I've noticed that pages take longer to load since the update. Will choosing the old layout in that Quick Style Chooser drop down resolve that issue?

IB. The main page and Forum main page have slowed down big time within the past 3 days.

xatly. flaws. and BTW DDC, "wheels not rims" wasn't lost on me. In "TECH TOOLS" the way to signal to folk who understand section height and section width that you also understand wheel sizing....is to label a tech thread "Tire Rim Calculator".

Haven't been on in a few days-- the "old" style user names & user information appear over the top of each post? Me no gusta.

I notice the "traditional" way appears over the updated style.

Everything is terrible.

 

So are iTrader ratings gone now?
