Hey guys, I have a 2005 Nissan 350z (base/automatic/189k miles), I was working until 9pm, decided to let my car idle since 8:45pm. Everything seemed fine, started normally with no lights on dash. When I left work and got back into the Z, I noticed both the TCS and SLIP were on the dash, I pressed TCS button however it has no effect to the light, they both stayed solid. I replaced all brake pads a few months ago, brake pedal is soft after the change, however still overall worked fine. I finished replacing my upper oil pan because it cracked about a week or so ago, and I did an alignment because the lower subframe needed to be removed, I did NOT reset my steering angle sensor, as I tried doing it before with a Snap On code reader, and I'm pretty positive I don't have a sensor for that since the last time I did an alignment (about a year ago but I may be wrong.) Overall when driving there is zero to no effect with my traction/ transmission. When I arrived home I turned the car off, and turned back on to see what would happen, there was an unusual slow startup (about 3-5 seconds) Once it was on, both TCS and SLIP were SOLID upon startup. Any ideas or information would be insanely helpful. Please and thank you. *please note I attend a(n) automotive type of class, where I did all my repairs. I will attempt to reset the steering angle sensor and read my codes to see what's up the next following day*
First step would be to pull the codes. Also, check the brake fluid. Sometimes if it's low, it will trigger those lights. Sounds relevant given the recent brake work. It could also be the camshaft/crankshaft position sensors. As I mentioned in the other thread where you posted, only replace with OEM. Aftermarket might work at first, but they will likely fail quickly. A bad crank/cam pos sensor won't always throw a code.

hey man, I originally thought those same problems too; however when I started my car to get to school, both lights were off, I let it idle at the same time from the other night and drove it for about 20 minutes, lights never came back on. it also started normally, I will try to read the codes when I get to my auto class (around 12-3).
Alright people, here's what I got, I preformed a multi-scan using 2 different scanners, specifically BOSCH (ADS 625X) & Snap-On (TRITON D8).
Just for a heads up, car is a salvage title, airbags did deploy, creating 2 airbag driver module codes, and ASCD (steering wheel buttons, I installed a quick release about a month ago.); For some reason codes are visible for A/F after replacement, B1 Sensor 2 was fully cut through the wire harness most likely from past owners. The thermostat shows as problem, when I tried replacing it, the thermostat itself was removed from the housing, making coolant enter the engine 24/7, after new installation vehicle overheated, decided to install old one back again. This makes me more focused on the other 3 codes. My brake fluid is normal.
