I don't know if the owners of this site need help (or want it), however I've worked with web hosting providers and vbulletin for many years. I'd be glad to recommend people to talk to regarding the database, servers, everything involved.

This site is large, but it's by no means *that* large to be having the problems it does, and the speed issues (which are at times unbearable).

If you search google for...

chicken web hosting forums

-you'll find the places I normally hang out when I'm not discussing the 350z I'd be happy to help (and I only provide hosting for myself and my sites, so there's no commercial angle to this).

FIX THE DAMN SEARCH.

Half the fun of hanging out on the forum is telling the n00bs to go do a search first before they ask stupid questions.

*bump*

hah I agree with this forum being our place of market and commerce. Gawd knows how much of my dough I've spent already based on the advertisements/ reviews/ and suggestions posted on these forums.

Now, everytime I sign on, it's littered with newb questions that could have been answered through the search function.

Just for kicks, when the search is fixed I'm going to do a search on how many threads were started bltchin about the search being down!

Oh well...good luck to whoever is trying to resolve this.

It doesn't appear that anyone is trying to resolve it. Or they have some terrible software people running this site.

One of the things that **** me off is that none of the web site gurus are letting us know what is going on. Some people have even offered to help.

I'm new here so I probably have more patience than many of the regulars. But it is quickly dwindling.... a lot like the performance of this site. Can you say SLOW.

Sorry, man, but I have just as little access to the internals of this site as you do, otherwise I probably could have fixed it myself.

Maybe I could even get paid for it?

The software is the same as I've used on many sites, same used on much larger sites, etc. I don't know if you'd say it's better than sliced bread, but it ain't too shabby. Generally there's a required copyright notice at the bottom (though you can pay to have it taken off, but it's not cheap).

I wasn't speaking of the VBulletin software. I'm a member of many sites that use this software. However, the software needs to be integrated to work with databases and whatnot. That is what I meant when I said the terrible software people running (not) this site.

It is kind of sad when I pay money to a site that has as many Prob as this one does.. but this is still the best place for 350Z info on the web. I just think Vic needs a little more control over Issues like this.

Anybody hear of any other of the VQ35 having a Bent rod yet?(that's what I need to serch for)

I'm getting the distinct impression that nobody is really running/maintaining this site or, for that matter, cares that the search function is not working. If the the contrarary was true, they would at least have had the decency to provide some feedback.

Really poor show

I think the first update we'll get will say "the search is working now."
