Question Can you clean out the sold stuff in the classified section please?

It would save people from getting there hopes up on stuff that is already sold, not to mention save a little space and maybe some bandwidth. Just a thought cause it sure would clean things up.

Thanks,
Jeff

I like the idea, but we'd have to contact every thread starter to make sure of their product status. Thinking out loud, here, but what if we required every thread starter to indicate when something is sold (although I'm not sure how we'd enforce it)?

Maybe Vic will have some ideas?

If you could put a check box that can be edited by the original poster that would indicate SOLD and then the system could delete it in 5 days or something like that. OR and this is a big one, simply put a time limit on how long something will stay out there without activity meaning a bump or inquiry. After 15 days of no interest then it will be deleted and the seller can then repost. Just a thought.

I second, third, and fourth that idea... HAVE YOU SEEN HOW MANY THREADS THERE ARE OUT THERE TO SIFT THROUGH???

ARE YOU GUYS PAYING ATTENTION TO HOW SLOW YOUR SITE HAS BECOME... IT'S THE SLOWEST OF ANY OUT THERE...

I don't like the idea of deleting the "sold" stuff. We need it for a reference to determine the going price for an item. I look at recent sales to determine what people are asking and willing to pay. If you don't have a history to look thru, how will you know what a fair price is for something??

It would be nice if there was a way to hide those threads identified as "sold" but I doubt the BBS software has such a feature built in.
