Remember that the weight savings will come from the flywheel. When you use an OEM style clutch, the weight difference will be negligible. OEM style after market clutches use beefer up OEM pressure plates, and OEM style disc. So you wont really be saving any weight...that isnt their intention anyways. The weight reduction comes from that nice flywheel.

The JUN chromoly flywheel for the Z32 had warping issues, not sure if anything has been done to correct it or not.

So far we have replaced two JWT Z33 flywheels due to issues with the bolts loosening and wearing out the nolt holes.

Adam...
edited: misread your post... thought you were talking about the flywheels not the clutch. Still waiting for a price on the JUN Flywheel

ether...
the ATS is out because too close to being over my budget when you factor in labor. And while $2k is my limit for this project, cheaper is always better as long as quality is not sacrificed.

The Tilton is a single disc puck style, and I think they also have a full face cerematalic disc....but dont quote me on that. Either way, they are terribly un-streetable. Very on-off...especially the three puck design.

sort of related to this situation:

for an APS twin setup running out of the box boost level with occasional track use, is upgrading the clutch necessary?

Thanks for the help everyone!

Decision has been finalized. I'll be getting the CM III from Sharif and likely ordering the JUN flywheel from Adam (get me a PM already, Adam!!! )

Car goes to Nissan this weekend to inspect a 4-5 gear synchro problem. If it is the typical bad tranny failure, I will be scheduling an appointment for a tranny swap / clutch & flywheel upgrade in the very near future.

McDuck....do you want me to bring the clutch with me on Saturday? I only accept cash or rare gold coins.

Ether, I have driven my car with stock clutch and 400whp for about 10,000miles. It is fine for the street or occasional track usage. But I would plan on getting it changed soon. It really depends on how much you slip your clutch when you drive. THe clutch overheats very easily....but it has the clamping load to support 400whp.

ACT should have their 350Z flywheel available by February 2005.

not soon enough .... grr.... I have the Vortech install planned for early Jan. and really think it a good idea to get my tranny replaced before that happens

right now it is a toss up betweeen JWT and CM/JUN ....

what is the total cost on the Jun/CM III setup andy? (less the gold coin discount )
