Default Questions re tuning with R4

Going to the dyno tomorrow and I want to lean my fuel out because its off the charts rich. If pull fuel on the fuel map and leave the rest of these settings alone will I be ok? Also, any thing I should know about loading the map to the ECU after I make changes? Thanks!

I just tuned my Z with the R4 over the weekend and learned a lot on how it works. Here are some tips I used when I tuned:

1. connect to the ecu and dowload your current base map
2. If your car is running fine already but just rich, you shouldn't have to make any changes to the "system settings" or "output settings"
3. Make only slight adjustemts at a time to the #'s in the map A (fuel map) at a time. Remember to not make any changes to your base map, and make changes to new maps (new customer) by copying and pasting from your base map.
4. Remember that 10 in a cell means "no change". Lower than 10 is leaner, higher than 10 is richer. I was able to get the results I wanted my making only slight changes at a time, like 9.5 from a 10.2 cell range.
5. When I uploaded a new map to the ecu, I immediately re-downloaded it as a new file so I could make sure no changes where spontaneously made to the new map as I uploaded. Just as a safety measure.

Good luck...

What is "R4"? Does it just modify the map sensor signal to get the results desired?
