Can someone tell me how to wire up my new Defi Link Controller II, the info I need is the best place in the car where I can power it from, there are 4 wires to connect, red wire for a constant 12v power, orange for power with ignition on, white for power when lights on and black wire for ground, anyone who has hooked up one of these units, where did you connect the 4 wires?

i tapped the wires used by the head unit.. here are the color codes from the manual for the wires.. "backup" is the constant 12v

 

Great, but what colors did you use off of the head unit as the US workshop manual color codes are all different to the righthand drive Aussie spec cars.

I wired direct to the fuse block located left of the drivers left foot. I then mounted the controller out of the way up under the steering column with velcro. I can still access the controller if needed and it made for a nice neat "factory" install to the harness to the block.

Don't use the wires from the head unit! Unless you want to chance introducing noise into your sound system.
