Default Able to adjust BOV with Vortech SC ?

is there a way to adjust the BOV that comes with the Vortech supercharger. the way mine is now it always sounds like it is releasing pressure, not a single pop when the throttle is released like it does in my friends WRX. is there a way to make it hold pressure and then release it like.... all at once so it's a little louder but more of an instant release. ? forgive my ignorance of BOV's.

Thought sc use bypass valves and tt use blow off valves? I'm guessing you could use either on a sc but I dunno.

Yes it can be adjusted . And no it doesnt make a pop ....but more of a ppppssshhhhhh . There is a bolt on top of the BOV . Loosen up the hold down nut . With a allen wrench that fits , tighten down the bolt till it has about 6 or 7 threads showing . Mine came with about 9 or 10 showing . Dont tighten it down to far or you will get compressor surge [ a fluttering ] when you let off the gas from WOT

the reason why it doesnt "pop" like your buddy's wrx is because his is a turbo and yours is a s/c. S/C's always have constant air unlike a turbo where it needs to spool to produce excess pressure. So the vortech's bypass valve will have a long psssssshhhhhh like booger said....but yea, you can adjust it with an allen wrench....just make sure you dont get any compressor surge....

thanks guys, supercharger noob here if you couldn't guess, i knew that a supercharger wouldn't be AS loud, but wasn't sure about the constant pssssssssshhhhhh as jdm3fiddy said, just thought that i could make it a little more... "at once sound"

thanks for your help.

My vortech's bypass valve sounded perfect right after install and for a while afterwards. After a while though, what you're describing is EXACTLY what my bypass valve began to sound like - sounded like air rushing out ALL the time and no reall hard PHHSSSHHH when letting of the pedal. I had AAM adjust it and it sounded just as it did after install.
