Default APS in the house

David from APS is at the shop right now and we are heading for dinner in an hour or so. If anybody has any specific questions they would like me to ask him about the current and future APS product lines please post them here and I will try to get them answered for you.

I have the APS TT kit installed with JWT cams. How will these two work together? Is there any issues I need to be aware of?

Default can they put this in a G35 coupe

Hi ask Dave---with a new bumper and nose can the current kit go in a G35 coupe at present? Greddy has a good nose cone for the G that the IC will fit into or is there tweaking needed in other area's?

Thanks

APS wants to test the system in our cars and make the correct ECU harness (since the pinout is different between the Z and the G). But please let us know when you'll have the G35 kit! I want one!

Yes,my question is what do we need to do to achieve 500-550(reliably) at the wheels with aps kit. We have all heard bottom end and other sTuff.what would aps put in there car to achieve this goal. Also would aps ever consider making a pkg that would include aps kit and internals, for example like a pkg that would include all components for engine rebuild and kit and guarantee maybe 500-550 at wheels?I think this would sell very well? I see to many posts here with people building engines and haveing hard time finding parts.

If you can, please ask him when the tall boy plenum is going to be released and if there will be a strut bar for it. Thanks

Could you ask him when he expects the single turbo kit to be released?

Default 500+ whp Internals Package

It would be great if APS would compliment their turbo kit (or anyother) with a 500+ whp Forged Internals Package. Maybe you could pass that interest along.

Lorca,

Yes, ask him, if this is the correct way to balance the weight of the piston in our engines...

Best to take the material out from the thick undersides of the pin bosses....in the area shown by your pics. Usually a fine grit belt sander works best

How about asking if there are plans to have different upgrade stages.

Example:
Stage 1: Basic bolt-on kit (the current product
Stage 2: 500-600 HP kit
Stage 3: 600-700 HP kit

Pistons should definatley be balanced by removing material from the thickest portion of the piston on the side. Removing material from the center of the piston, as you show in the pic is really dumb....its the thinnest part!!! You will weaken the piston and hot spots could result.

APS won't offer ''stages''. But, APS TT'd VQ35DE's can get the APS tallboy plenum which mounts the stock injectors in the plenum to add more fuel, so after that you can tune it to basically any hp goal you want (of course you'd need new internals, clutch, etc.). After 800hp (I believe it's 800hp) the stock turbo's that come with the APS kit will not be able to withstand that power, so you'll have to upgrade to the bigger turbo's they offer (he posted something about it in another thread).

They work well together. The only thing I recommend is getting the Technosquare reflash and have them raise the idle. We have a car that has that setup and it runs great

That would not be practical for APS to do being in Australia. The major manufacturers of rods and pistons are based here in the US.

And most people will want to chose their won internals, rather than as a complete packacge with a TT kit. Whereas the TT kit is bolt on, forged internals are anything but bolt-in.
