The Z's VQ head is probably the best flowing ones out of all the VQ. Maybe if the 30th Anniv. Z head becomes more available then that would be worth swapping. It has CVTC on both intake and exhaust cams.

Yeah,
BUT
What I am interested in is a VQ400 Z
I am looking for short block pricing now. Should be a GEAT FI base also, as is lower compression in the truck install...

You might want to do some research on motors and laws of physics. I'm not no expert either but let me teach you. ..... Why would you want to make it redline higher?? To correct you FROM THE BEGINNING.. Honda k20a/k24 shortblock frank motor isn't so you can "redline" higher. It is for the additional stroke/dispalcement that will give more torque. Gosh forbid people with these setups and revving the **** out of it balance the bottom end compontents and get forged internals, or you're just asking for troubles.

The k24 isn't any stronger than the k20. If anything the weaker link is the k24 than the k20 block due to the longer stroke, and additional wear at high RPM to the bottom end. Longer stroke+higher RPM= More stress on motor+only 15000 miles max=Bye bye motor. This is the way i see it.

Why would you want to do that on a VQ30DE?? IF EVER the motor makes power up their, the bottom end components will need some balancing with strong forged rod/piston setup as well.

And please don't rev to 9k so you can impress your buds. It's not worth it.
