Priced a fuel pressure gauge from Summit today for $235 and that's without the $200 controller that you have to have for these gauges. If Autometer was going to try to steal some of DEFI's thunder I at least thought they would be a lot more reasonably priced. Look damn good though!
You can get other gauges that work just fine for far less. If you like pretty flashing lights and have a thick wallet, these look really nice. For the rest of us, there are better options.
Yeah, these are great for people going all out, but I don't think that market is all that large. Most everyone doing aftermarket stuff won't be dumping all their money into gauges, seems like Autometer went too far. They are nice, but not that nice. I'll stick to my planned Defi/Innovative combo, unless these come down in price when no one buys them.

Cesar,
Just ordered the boost and fuel pressure yesterday for my car. I'll take some pics when I install them and shoot them over to your email. Got a really good deal on them from our supplier.

The BF-ambers are also.
gauges like this are cool... but the extra features are really only useful to people with pretty stock cars... most highly modified cars have a much more accurate method of datalogging and would never use that feature of the gauges.
I have Defi D-Gauges because they are just regular stand alone gauges (that match the stock lighting, and are accurate) and dont have all that extra crap.... there is enough complication in my high tech vehicle that having gauges that require an instruction manual is just over the line. I datalog with my FCON, and most of you will log with your E-Manage, Tech Edge, and other high end datalogging methods.

I agree!

My buddy with a Turbo RSX has these gauges. I must say they look awesome inside the car. Very pricey, but looks-wise, they are by far the nicest gauges I have ever seen.
Defi is the only thing that compares, but those only come in metric readings, so I will never buy them.

hey GQ how hard was it to install the d-series gauges? Lately, Ive been hearing about how much of a pain it is to run the wires and install the sensors for boost, ect.. Ifeel that same as you do in that I dont need another freakin controller in the car. I just want gauges that give accurate nothing special.
All my D-series gauges read in US measures.
I use all six in a G35C: Boost , Fuel psi, A/F , Oil psi, Oil temp, EGT.
I could live without a few , but I like the homogenous OEM like look of all the gauges together , three in the A-pilar, three in the lower center console.
Wireing was no more a PITA than any other gauge set I've ever installed, you have to place sending units for any electric gauge you have and run a vaccum line for the mechanical boost gauge. In my situation that was trivial and the vac line is needed by the APS Unichip piggyback in the cabin anyway.
The A/F guage is driven by the analog output of the LM-1. So effectively it has been "converted" into a Wideband Analog guage.
I use the LM-1 to collect and log several other parameters to a laptop or an on board car PC (basically a docked Laptop. The gauges are intended for rough status and not intended for tuning.
I know this may seem geeky but I am an EE and can't help myself

I like the boost gauge! Do they have anything like the Defi Link Display unit though?
I would like to have just two gauges (A/F and Boost) and then use something like the Defi link display for EGT/Oil/Water.
I dont mind paying a little more for that boost gauge but I dont want the controller if I cant use it for anything more than that.
Its nice that it comes in 52mm too.
