Really no downside other than having to pay $1,000 more, though that could easily be shrugged off by only having to pay and install once.
thanks for the response. yeah i was leanning towards the ats.. i am willing to dish the extra cash. it is worth i think, yet though it sure is expensive. where would can u purchase the ats twin plate clutch? any place u would recommend?
thanks again

Sharif is a total pleasure to deal with. He shipped on time and knew what he was talking about. I didn't run into any delays, excuses, etc. I can't say that about everybody else that sold me parts.

i think I will be going with the RPS clutch and JWT flywheel combo. Or maybe go with the RPS all the way including flywheel. If I do go with RPS, should I go with the 6 puck? I guess to my understanding that it will hold more lbs of torque.

It's funny....I've heard this same thing many times, but I swear: I have never had one rattle or squeak in my Z. It's very tight....as solid and rattle free as my wife's Audi. Maybe I just got lucky, or it was built on a Monday, but no unwanted sounds at all, except for the slightly noisier ACT clutch/flywheel I added with the TT. It's not what I'd call a "quiet" car, but no rattles at all.

My JWT clutch pedal effort is pretty much identical to stock...

I vote for the JWT clutch/flywheel combo...it's VERY streetable...can easily hold 500whp and I'd have to replace it 4 times before I'd be up to the cost of the ATS setup. (I do all my work on the car myself, so no extra cost there for install)

Unless you're going for huge power...I'd say the JWT is one of the best choices out there.

BTW - where'd you hear that the JWT was a rebadged RPS clutch?? I'm not saying you're wrong...just wondering where you got your information.

Its not a rebadged RPS clutch. Its JWT's design all the way. The flywheel however is a Fidanza flywheel rebadged.

Yeah my car has been a rattle box from day one. Maybe the guy doing final assembly on your car was getting it good that night...

Buying a $769 JWT clutch/flywheel combo.
Then replacing the JWT clutch ($400) 3 times not including install, costs $30 less than buying an ATS twin plate clutch/flywheel combo. Of course that isn't including shipping each time of the JWT (the ATS is free shipping).

I got free shipping on my JWT set-up.

I really don't think I'll go through 4 clutches in the time that I own my Z. Don't get me wrong..the ATS set-up ROCKS for Z's over 500whp..but for the majority of Z owners out there the ATS is overkill and costs way too much.

Cool, where is it just for those that are interested?

Just stating some prices, so anyone can determine on their own if they think it's worth it or not. Personally, I agree with you.

One of the guys at performance nissan hooked me up with the free shipping after I talked to him for a while...

I am using the NISMO clutch, flywheel, pressure plate with the PE TT kit. Holds well so far.

Pressure plate: Increased holding power/pressure to 1030kg.
Torque capacity of kg/M when used with Nismo clutch disc

Clutch Disc: Copper Mix," copper and organic material.
Torque capacity of kg/M when used with Nismo clutch cover.

Lightened Flywheel: 28% lighter than stock, over 8 lbs. less
23lbs.

Total cost < $900 at nissanparts4less
