Well, I made my own overlaid dyno chart of the SportZ charts, but I could only overlay the Vortech and the ProCharger because they were the only ones with the same scale on the graph. I tried attaching the image but am getting a database error.

Anyway, looking at the two overlaid there is a huge difference between the Procharger and the Vortech. The vortech spikes a lot on its way up whereas the procharger is somewhat smoother although also suffers from the same spiking. But the biggest difference is between about 4500rpm and 6200 rpm the procharger is making a lot more torque (looks like about 25 ft. lbs more).

Is there any solution to improve the power delivery so it isn't as "spikey" or "surge-y"?

The spikes from the Vortech are from alot of fuel being dumped in and lots of timing being pulled up top . After tuning the hp curve is pretty smooth and trq curve is almost flat across the board

Not sure who or what your referring to in the comment about Vortech and AAM reflash..I paid for and they flashed my ECU and have no problems. Car runs great and has great dyno #'s. Could you be a little more specific on why your offer this guidance.. Thanks

Without looking at the whole picture i.e A/F and how well the various cars were tuned drawing conclusions from these charts is not gonna give you what you hope to get out of them..You need well tuned cars on similar dyno's to make a fair comparison. Several variables can skew these charts and make a meaningful comparison difficult..The spiking and the reason for it is only one. Poor fuel management/ratio?

DId you have them flash for the Vortech ? and removed the SS box ? There are a couple of guys that PMed me stating AAM flashed the ECU to tune it and couldnt get enough fuel up top and they left the shop being real lean up top [ not good ] They told them they needed to buy more parts [ fuel pump ,injectors ]
Im going on what has been told to me by the guys that Pmed me . Relating what was said to them by the shop and that thier A/F was very lean up top after they left . Both of them told me the same exact thing . They flashed the ECU to tune it and didnt use the SS box and both guys were not told that the shop was going to do this before hand . Only after the fact that they flashed the ECU and didnt use the SS box to tune it . If they had used the SS box , they wouldnt have the lean condition and wouldnt had to buy new parts to correct the problem

The charts are from the SportZ Magazine supercharger shootout. They tested the superchargers on the same dyno.

Vortech is a more complete set up then ATI, while both make great power, vortech provides you with a tune with the split second box which also can be custom tuned, which is defiantly a nice addition to the kit. We have had fewer issues with vortech then the ATI procharger kits, and the vortech kits seem to be safer. I think for what you’re getting in both kits Vortech is the way to go.

If your going S/C vortech with a good tune, look at Rons dyno graphs....

I went with the Vortech....research led to believe that the Vortech unit is actually more efficient than the Procharger.

I went with a Vortech Tuner, Emanage with ignition harness, 440cc injectors, fuel return system, and an oil cooler to deal with the oil tap. BEST setup IMHO.

Badmonkey, Does your belt squeal at idle? Who installed your kit and J&S Safeguard?

I own a Stillen and have driven the Vortech with an upgraded pulley.

IMHO go TT ... if I could go back in time I would. For right now I my thinking is "love the one your with" as it would just be too costly now (when you take the loss into account).

Adam,

What are your thoughts of the Vortec in comparison to the Stillen Kit. I have driven in TTs and also the Vortec. I have yet to test out a Stillen Car.

Where does the Stillen Shine and where does it not?

The serpentine belt squealed after the install, but I tightened that and it went away. The cog belts of the Procharger make a lot of noise, but no squealing. The noise is more in the pullies, I think. Hard to explain. I had GRC Performance in Mission Viejo install it. The install was $875 which included dyno tuning, good deal and great people. I installed the Safeguard, myself. It wasn't too difficult, but not real easy, either.

Where the stillen really shines is off the line with instant power. There is no spool up at all, from 1500 rpm to 5500 it has a ton of torque and will let you know it.

Where it does not shine is over 5500. It also produces a pretty decent amount of heat.

It is a very easy and almost OEM install. If you can take your front bumper off you and a friend can do the install. There is no need to tune (you can't), just install and go.

For me, I just want more power.

you cant tune the stillen at all? I guess thats why they can offer a warranty if they are able to eliminate human error like that. But what about car to car variances?
