The reason for the intercooler fan set up was when we talked to several G35 people including dealers and magazine people the majority of people felt that retaining the stock front facia was important so we designed around this.

we calculated the required airflow required across the intercooler core and the available airflow with the stock front facia in place was too restrictive, even when ducting was contimplated the airflow was not enough.

the answer was to create a fan shroud with a pair of Spal pusher fans to force the airflow needed across the core. the shroud actually increased the airflow over simply mounting the fans on brackets.

the fans are tied into a relay system that runs the fans at 50% speed when the key is on but under no boost to help heat soak under no boost conditions as sitting in traffic and then once you get into boost the fans kick up to 100%.

the other feature we desinged in was if you do change the facia to a front opening version the fans and shroud simply unbolt, you then turn the intercooler around putting the shroud mounting bosses facing the rear of the car and re-install back into the mounting brackets. it then looks just like the 350Z.

What are the hp/trq #'s on this kit and any charts?

Whats the price on this kit, I've noticed we G's always end up paying more than the Z guys?

Any additional options for this kit?

Hp and Tq are the same as the Z kit. ~380 RWHP. ~360 ft/lb Tq. There are several dyno sheets posted around here somewhere of the Z kit. I'll try to find one...

The downpipe comes off the turbo and goes straight back past the header primaries then turns down near the firewall and goes under the car. A replacement AC line that is prewrapped and heat resistent material is provided to protect it against heat.

None that I have. Brad said he would be sending me the install instructions soon so I'll post those when I can.

I've been told that this kit will be ready in 45-60 days any information on when the final product will start shipping out from Turbonetics?

Without starting a war, would you say that the APS single is not getting enough air since Turbonetics is turning the IC around and adding the fans w/the OEM bumper?

The darker piping is it more for looks or does this help cool down piping in the engine bay?

I'd have to say that any FMIC behind the stock bumper, and without these fans, isn't getting enough airflow.

(except for maybe the JWT, from what I see...)

We are making a new A/C line that re-routes it and is included in the kit.

bump - curious about the pricing increase (if any ), ETA, and dyno charts from the actual G35 kit...

I'm waiting until around Dec. to make a move, but it's looking more and more like T-netics every day... congrats on a great idea!

We should have pricing locked down in a few weeks. Most of the system is the same as the 350Z with some minor changes. The obvious is the intercooler setup with the fans and relay system plus the different intake pipe and A/C line.

I would say that is absolutely accurate. The stock openings just dont flow enough to cool 8 PSI let alone the 9 PSI the APS kit pushes. Turbonetics tested this thoroughly and would not have spent the extra time and money to come up with this if it were otherwise. Notice on APS webpage it says that if you plan to drive the car hard or live in a warm weather area you should buy a new bumper with an opening. Easy to say when thats going to run you at least $1k. Besides who buys a turbo kit to NOT have fun with it. IMHO Turbonetics thought of everything with this kit and made the kit FAR more user friendly and allows you to keep the stock appearance if thats what you like. Props to Turbonetics...
