Default APS TT install complete (430rwhp)

Picked up my car from GRD in Naperville, IL on Tuesday night. GRD finished the install that I started (fuel system, engine management, gauges) and realized that the best way to do it would be with the motor out of the car which I have neither the space or the time for these days.

GRD did an absolutely fantastic job on the remaining install, nothing rubs, rattles or leaks. Tuan got 430rwhp and I believe somewhere in the neighborhood of 410rwtq @ 9spi out of it. My only airflow mods are Helix test pipes and Borla TD exhaust. I don't have my dyno sheet since his printer was acting up, but it should be e-mailed to me shortly.

Impressions: I LOVE it. The car is smoother, quieter and much much much faster than before. I have absolutely no traction issues at all since I'm running 295 width BFG drag radials full time on the street. They hook AMAZINGLY well. The car is honestly exactly what I always wanted it to be now. I can't say enough about the quality of the APS TT kit and how it transforms the car in a very civilized manner. Power is available at pretty much all RPMS and the turbos spool very quickly.

I'm very very happy with how this turned out...and if all goes well I should be building the motor and cranking the boost sometime next summer.

Congrats Brian! This is awesome. I'm looking forward to track numbers! What wheels are you mounting the 295s on?

Hey Brian, that's awesome! Good to see you finally got her home. Great numbers with the Borla exhaust. I knew Tuan would do a great job for you. Yep, I saw your beefy tires at GRD and you've got to have great traction with those. I'm sure you're enjoying the boosting as much as me.

Good luck with it and maybe I'll see you next summer at GRD, for my build as well.

It's very very addicting...I've gone through nearly a half tank of gas in 120miles I wonder how much power I'd pick up with a plenum upgrade.

Sounds familiar. Yeah, I'm curious about that too since I had the plenum installed with my TT. How about a little better flowing exhaust? I know Tuan mentioned the Borla might be a little restrictive but that won't matter much if you're going to build and turn up the boost.

I'm going to stick with this exhaust for a while..it's sooo quiet and stealth.

Congrats! I am happy to have another F/I Z cruising Chicagoland. What track are you going to sunday? I need to get out there and see what I can do before I turn up the boost.

Brians car is SICK! I was real impressed with the OEM feel of the APS TT. You pop the hood and it looks factory. The car's power is very linear, it actually doesn't feel fast until you pay attention to the speedo or see how quickly Brian is going thru the gears. I was amazed at how well the car hooked up too. Brian and I did a quick launch at 3K IIRC and the car bogged a bit.

PS.....I need boost!

Brian, I'm stoked for you. I know you have waited a long-a$$ time for this. Mike said his ride in the car was amazing. I believe his words were something like... "With those huge drag radials and the twins it LEAPS off the concrete with almost no lag."

I can't wait till my next visit to Chicago so I can get mine!

I'll definitely be at the next meet.

mcderns - I'm going to Byron on Sunday...25 bucks for test and tune..opens at 11 I believe. PM me if you want to cruise out there...

Adam (Kopo) - Anytime man...you still have the out of state area code number..because that's what I have in my phone? I'm going cruising tonight around the Woodfield area weather permitting with some of my domestic buddies and if you have your car back from GRD you're more then welcome to join us.

Dave - Thanks man...when are you planning on heading up here again??

barthelb - I plan on running the car against my R6 sometime soon, I just need to find someone I trust to drive the car fast. I'm also going to run my buddies F4i

Brian, congrats on the install, and another nice installation and tuning job by GRD. Can't wait to see those time slips with your nasty tire/wheel setup.
