Default Ati Limitations?

Right now i currently drive a 2003 350z 6sp, with and ati procharger, pro-1 test pipes, and borla true dual exhaust, i am currently untuned and have been which is dumb and i no, but there are no tuning shops that i no of in new jersey. i had an appointment to go to AAM which is my best bet, but i just cant seem to get down there, its like 3 1/2 hours away. untuned ive been gettin raped by cars, not extremly fast cars, but cars i should be beating, for instance a 2002 camaro z28 with exhaust, and an eagle talon tsi with some work done. right now i wouldn't even break 13's in the 1/4. one guy that installed my supercharger at mrc said he gained 60 whp when he got it tuned, and thats def what im hoping for. heres my dilema.... i'v made an appointment at this place called IDA off texas road in morganville or englishtown, they do alot of older cars and stuff, they were really busy, i couldn't get an appointment til 9-12-05. i dunno if i should go there and have my car tuned or get an ecu from technosquare. also what do i have to do to run more boost? another ? what about gettin an apr plenum? any one thought are appreciated

www.procharger.com

To find the name, location, and phone number of a ProCharger dealer near you, please contact an ATI customer service representative at 913-338-2886.

Give them a call and see if the have a shop in your area. You need to get that thing tuned before you blow it up! There is no way in hell, I would be racing an untuned Procharger. You are just asking for trouble. The tune is not that hard to do, just make sure it is done on a dyno with A/F.

Do you have a wideband A/F gauge or a fuel pressure gauge? I would get these as a minimum with a boost gauge. You also need to addrtess timing. The timing curve in the car is detrimental to the engine under boost. I suggest the J&S Safeguard. Remember, even after you get ut tuned, you need to retard the timing. I am guessing that you arew running pretty rich and is keeping your motor intact, or you may be pinging and your ecu is retarding the timing for you.

The best way to go with the Procharger is with 440cc injectors, Walbro fuel pump and an ecu reflash from Technosquare or AAM. This will allow you to get rid of the aux fuel pump and DFMU. The stock fuel injectors are very taxed with the ATI system. When you are at max boost you may be running close to 120 psi of fuel pressure. Something is going to give. Good luck and happy Camaro hunting AFTER the tune. Just my $.02.

Make the trip to AAM.Get the timing reflash from Mike because ati has no timing retard.Put it on the dyno get the a/fs worked out and finished.

I do like the idea af a re-flash, I have one myself, but you still need to address the fact that you need to re-flashg as you continue to upgrade. I have the re-flash in conjunction with the Emanage Ultimate. You can now advance and retard timing with air/fuel targeting. I am trying to get the J&S to work with the Emanage ignition drivers.

Indeed find the time and get it tuned at AAM. Mike once had an ATI before he went to a Greddy..+1 for the injector and fuel pump suggestion.

get it tuned, i would only trust mike to tune my car, he has tuned soo many ati procharged Z's he has the experience and he knows what he's doing, my car is tuned so well and im making great power...i beat heavily modded z28's and camaro ss's all the time, i would highly recommend taking the extra step and getting it tuned by him. theres something wrong if its not doing well against them....

TS can scale the ECU to run up to 700cc injectors I believe . They did mine for the 550's

Doesnt a TS reflash lock down youe ECU and prevent apiggy back tuneto take it from there ( if more mods).

I dont knwo if this is misinformation just askinbg..
Also my understanding is you can always tune (with different method) on top of a AAM reflash right?

Anyone know for sure?

Fred..

I have the TS flash and the Emanage Ultimate working just fine together. There is no lock on the flash.

I went TS, because I live close. I have not been disappointed, however the flash was not perfect. That is why I bought the Emanage Ultimate, so I can tweak the flash. My car was actually flashed about 10 times over a period of three days, Brian, worked hard to get it close.

www.technosquareinc.com They will adjust the flash based on your mod list. The flash will be real close and safe. You can then fine tune it with some engine management computer, like the Emanage Ultimate.
