turbonetics single turbo, what exhaust components can I keep??
Goin with the ST kit pretty soon hopefully, but in the mean time I was gonna get test pipes and a UR y-pipe to go with my apexi n1 cat-back. Research says that aftermarket headers yield less HP then the stock manifolds do, so Im not wasting money on headers, but will the turbonetics kit be able to use aftermarket test pipes and y-pipe, or does the new exhaust routing eliminate these things? I looked for a diagram of the whole kit, but couldnt find one. I have a feeling that test pipes are not usable, because the two exhaust manifolds are routed into single piping to the turbo housing, but what happens after that? Feedback greatly appreciated.
Do more research about the kit before you get it. Not to be a d!ck but this has all been covered 100X in the past 2 months. You are correct in presuming the test-pipes cant be used, the standard T-netics kit doesnt run a catalytic converter, unless you get the kit with the cat in the downpipe. So these imo would be uselss to buy now, I would just wait. You can keep anything from the y-pipe back.
