Default Turbonetics Single Turbo Installed

Turbonetics kit looks damn good by the way! i wanted to make the statement that anyone looking to do the t-netics single turbo with after market headers should take a serious look at the Alphawerks headers. they fit damn near perfect with this ST kit. there are other headers that have given some t-netics single turbo owners some trouble. i will dyno just as soon as i can to see what this kit did for my power needs. i am hitting around 8.5-9.5psi with an a/f reading @ 10.8. my boost hits arounds 3800-4100rpm. i will try to pinpoint the exact rpm later. i will get the greddy emanage ultimate soon and get her tuned! i am hoping for 400-425hp and 380-405tq

the kit is a tight fit but a very well built and engineered kit. can be a frustrating install but very rewarding once finished. everything mates very well, even to my aftermarket headers. i had no problem hooking up the U-pipe from the header to the Y-pipe. My cusco strut bar is getting modified to fit. the flange on the MAF sits too high so the strut bar would not fit. i would suggest you have a wide variety of tools to tackle this job. lots of tight spaces to get wrenches on bolts and nuts. Patience is very important!! fuel pump modification and injectors were not difficult at all. can't go wrong with this kit, great bang for the buck! more to come, stay tuned!

btw, i paid $4400 shipped through avalon racing! Paul@avalon was a great help and offered superb customer service. Also i bought my gauges from forgedinternals.com. Shariff is the man! i received great prices and timely shipping. Shariff is hands down the best vendor i have dealt with, ever!!

i will do a photoshoot this weekend so i will have plenty of pics of the turbo and intercooler to post! More impressions to follow!!!

here are some for now

Looks awesome!

hmm... I'm guessing the strut bar did not clear the flange on the MAF? I was looking at the JIC myself, and was worried about the same issue.

my stock bar was hitting that flange too so I guess there isnt much clearance depending on the kit alignement etc.

Congrats on the install, about how many hours would you say it took you to do? And did you have any help? Im planning on installing mine also. Does anybody know if the Crawford STB works with this kit?

Can he woop on your evo? There is a guy at work that think his evo is the best car at work and I just cannot wait to woop on his A$$.

Vitamin. How long did it take to get back your ecu after sending it in to tnetics? That is going to be my main problem due to my odd work schedule.

Just wondering if the Raptor BOV can be replaced with like a Greddy, APS or HKS BOV?

Only if it fits that flange, so measurements will need to be checked. Or you modify that pipe with a new flange then you will be able to use another BOV.

Also congrats and great looking Z, looking forward to your results

turbonetics says it is a 10-12 hour install, that might be true but if you are a very experienced mechanic and or you have done this install before. i started on a friday and finished on a tuesday morning. that does not include the time it took me to work out some of my kinks after the install. the problems were rattling (o2 sensor bung plug worked itself loose) and some oil leaks (used teflon paste instead of tape plus tightened fittings to fix). every thing is good now! this was my first turbo install and i got help from a few friends. don't know about the crawford. the factory stb is a close fit. my cusco is getting modified to fit.

the satisfaction of doing the install is well worth the effort. plus you will save yourself $1000-$1500 and learn a few things.

What is done to his evo? Evo's are VERY easy to mod. Give me 2500 and an evo and i will put it in the 11's.

This kit looks pretty nice, i just kinda dont like the exhaust housing right under the cold pipe. That turbo thorws off some serious heat. Mabey coat the exhaust housing, as well as the charge pipe in an HPC coating.

What turbo do they run in that kit?

copied from turbonetics web site, guess it's an old statement, because now there is an aps st.

Turbonetics' Nissan 350Z turbo system is the first and only production single turbo system available. Utilizing our proprietary ceramic ball bearing turbocharger, this system outperforms all twin turbocharger kits currently on the market. The unique engineering design of this system retains factory exhaust manifolds, therefore reducing overall installation time significantly. Installation of the kit can be done easily with basic hand tools by a qualified auto mechanic.

Turbo: Turbonetics 60-1 Ball Bearing turbo

Intercooler: Spearco large W.A.V.E. Technology core with cast end tanks

Fuel Management: Turbonetics tuned upgraded ECU with larger injectors

Air Filter: Turbonetics AF-1

Wastegate: Turbonetics Evolution

Blow Off Valve: Turbonetics Raptor with polisheddischarge horn

Intercooler Piping: Black chrome mandrel bent aluminum

Exhaust pipes: Polished mandrel bent stainless steel with v-band connection between the all the pipes

Downpipe: 3.0" polished mandrel bent stainless steel
