I am getting all of my parts together to do a Single Turbo from TN. Now the question is to do headers or not. I heard that the Alpha Werks work but they spool up later than the stock headers? Is this true? I have also heard that the crawford header spool up the quickest so far. Would it then be best to go with the Crawfords.
Secondly are there any dynos yet to prove any of this??
Thanks for any input

1) Make sure they keep the stock mounting location so the crossover pipe, etc will bolt right up.
2) Typically aftermarket headers will use larger tubing and possible be longer. Therefore you give up a little in the low end to make more in the top end. The stock headers' size keeps exhaust velocity up which spools the turbo faster.
Let me know if you have any more questions or would like to order the kit from us.

The biggest issue seen with aftermarket headers with the Turbonetics kit is clearance issues with the downpipe. Because it runs right next to the headers primaries some headers have fitment issues and cause vibrations, noises, etc that you otherwise wouldn't have. The exhaust gas velocity is also usually reduced and can cause later spool up. Not to mention most headers aren't designed for the EGTs that are seen with a turbo car. The stock headers are made of SS409 double wall steel and will hold up very well.
