Moving on...
Wow, you are a piece of work. I think you have just proven that you have no class. Next, why don't you start insulting people who switched over from the typewriter to the computer.
I think you have other issues to deal with then just this topic. Obviously you are feeling a need to over-express your manliness in order to hide some things you lack. One of them being class.
And btw: Some of the fastest cars on the drags are Forced induction automatics.

A turboed 5AT with a VB upgrade is nasty bro. With a VB upgrade an average driver looks like he's a way better driver. That thing shifts fast and crisp. There was a video of a guy with a 5AT/VB upgrade and some kinda FI here on this site somewhere.

you have the nerve to call someone a pansy... with name like "Forbidden Donut"
... nuff said.
Sorry... but i just didn't want to shift 2+ hours per day over a distance of 50 miles. I can and have driven manual for the past 6 years, but this time just chose not to. I miss it sometimes, but for my situation it was the right choice. As far as being a pansy goes... I think your trying to overcome your own insecurities.

BTW ... what are your folks thoughts ont he VB Upgrade :
1) who .... where .... what kit is the best for the upgrade
2) Is there other items in the trans that needs upgrading to handle power over 550HP
3) shouldn't ya need to upgrade at least the tourqe converter ... or at least the syncro gears
thought i would just ignore the dimmwit who doesn't even understand that many drag cars use AUTO
But i will say .... neon/civic/other crap care owners may want to keep thier stick ... because it makes them look faster ....
personally i would rather have a SMG-like shifter ... much faster shifting and you can keep your hands on the wheel

OMG at some of these reply's, I don't know much on the strength of the 350z auto tranny but turbo's love automatics... a well setup auto Z with a turbo would kill a 6spd z with the same kit from a low speed roll or launch... Peps got to remember turbo's are load dependant so you power brake an auto with a turbo you can leave the line with full boost and since the shift are instant not releasing the throttle there isn't boost drop on shifts... I don't know what the aftermarket on thse tranny's is like but if you were to put a stall in it, aka torque convertor with a higher stall rating maybe around 3000rpm's and reprogram your shift points it would be on hell of a ride...
Some one mentioned a VB i assume you're talking about the valve body "brain of an auto" you really wouldn't have to do anything there since the computer controls the valves and can adjust firmness and shiftpoints with a program, but most of the "shift Kits" that modify valve bodies usually only increase hydraulic pressure giving the feel of firm shifts but this can cause problems in the long run on some trannies...
Good luck with it if you are serious about try to find out if there are any aftermarket torque convertors because that will make an auto come alive even in NA form...

i drive an automatic 350z. i bought the car because i liked how it looked, not because im trying to impress someone by my super shifting skills. i've never EVER driven a stick before and i don't care to either.
people that brag about driving manual transmissions should really look for meaning in their lives.

The best valve body upgrade is the Level 10 one. If u go FI with ur AUTO thats the best one to get. If you are staying NA with a reflash and cams.. then the Stillen one is a good choice. But as someone said earlier they cause major strain on the tranny down the line. But VB upgrades are very pricey but definatley worth it imo.
What about all us older folks who have knees that have been damaged. I buy autos because I've driven trucks for many years and farm eguipement and now my knee won't take it any more. Hell I was driving stick before most of you guys were born.
As far as tuboing an auto, ask my friend when he gets his car back. He's 30 with a bad knee too, and his car is at 440hp@2100 the tranny is built for 700 horse. By the way it's an auto.

+1!!! Why bash auto??? You see the thing is that you can get from point A to point B just like your stick......did you know that??? We love our cars, and thats it.. if you cant appreciate that find another forum to tool around on!
jeez y are we still talking about this?
ok ok my bad. i apologize for the harsh comments. some people prefer auto, but my personal preference for performance cars is manual. sorry bashing auto. u are not pansies. ok?
