Need FI help
Hey alright heres my thing. Im 19 own my own Z and obviously dont make enough money yet to do everything at once. Im just curious cause ive done alot of research but not enough. Im wanting to go FI but I have a few questions if anyone can answer.
1.) Cheapest (but excellent quality) turbo/SCer
2.) Where/how much could i get it tuned in texas (i live in amarillo, nearest to be is lubbock)
3.) Warranty issues...
4.) gas mileage...
5.) Worth it really? or should I stay N/a and build engine up before I go FI?...

1.) Turbonetics/Vortech
2.) Turbonetics comes with a reflahsed ecu (included in the price), Vortech would have to be tuned. The prices for tuning vary from shop to shop. I'm not familiar with shops in texas, but I've heard nothing but great things about SGP in Houston, but thats like 900 miles from you. I'm sure there are some great shops in Dallas... a little closer to u than Houston.
3.) Nissan warranty? If you have a friend at the dealership, then you'll be ok for the most part. If not, then nothing will be under warranty anymore... or at least the dealership will try to make you pay for everything.
4.) Stay out of boost and you will get about the same gas mileage as N/A, but if you go in boost a lot then it will be on the low side.
5.) Yes, its definantly worth it if you know what you're doing and if you have a reliable shop in your area.

To a young guy with limited funds who wants a safe FI, I would suggest Stillen, but if it's power you are looking for then the guys post aboue mine gives you some good suggestions. Bolt -ons are ok tooo, but as Alberto pointed out in a previous post somewhere, there is noting like the Whinnnneeeee of a S/C.
