Best turbo
What is the best twin turbo kit for the Z?? What gets the most Hp and torque. I know you can upgrade the greddy kit, but at first it only puts out like 350. What else is out there??
Just go browse the Forced Induction section of this site for a day and you will find all your answers. Most of the turbo kits wont be even close to their full potential unless you build your motor.
APS TT, all the way. I've been researching this to death myself. Saving up for one next spring, hopefully. Seems to have the best responsiveness, keeps the low end torque, comes with a fuel delivery system capable up to 600HP, etc. Yes it is expensive, but you asked which is the best, right?
Goto the "Forced Induction" section or pick up the summer issue of Sport Z magazine.
Lowest priced one is the Turbonetics Single Turbo...
The one I am waiting for is the JWT Twin Turbo...if it ever get CARB cert.

You can use the article I wrote in Sport Z Magazine (Summer 2005 issue) as a place to start since it features 6 turbo kits. By no means does it select one kit as "the best" and that is not because we were avoiding ranking them. We simply felt each kit had strong points and as a consumer it is you that has to decide which kit fits what you are trying to achieve with the turbo kit. Some want a dependable daily driver that is affordable and there are kits that do a great job of doing that. Other owners want to maximize the highest hp/tq the VQ motor can put out (and can afford it) thus look for type of turbo kit that provides the greatest potential for gains with building the internals of the motor and going for high boost levels.
You need to ask yourself a alot of of questions before selecting a kit. I listed some below for you to consider (add to the list to fit your needs):
1. What is your budget, how much do you want to spend including the kit, installation, & tuning.
2. Do you want a daily driver or is this a weekend special event type car that does not need to be as dependable?
3. Can you afford the time and money to constantly being playing with the car and if you can afford it, do you want to have a kit that needs a lot of attention?
4. Does the car have to pass some kind of smog certification such as in California? Do you have to pass CARB? If so, does this matter to you?
5. Are you willing to possibly lose some durability/length the motor will last? Anytime you go with something like turbo kits there is an increase risk involved so if you are not willing to take the risk, be honest with yourself. It is not a sin to leave a car NA or stock all together. If you decide to go FI, why are you selecting a turbo kit and not a SC kit? If you cannot give me that simple answer, you need to read up on the pros and cons of Turbos vs SC's.
6. Is there someone that is a good tuner near you that knows how to install & tune the kit you like? Have you look into how they handle servicing your car after it is installed? What is their reputation in the Z/G community and how long has the company that builds the kit been in business? How long has the shop that will install the turbo kit been in business?
7. Have you driven at least 2 of the turbo kits on other 350Z's? I strongly suggest you do so before deciding on any kit. Would you marry the first person you ever dated and if so, you marry them before even meeting them in person? If not, then doesn’t it seem foolish to buy a turbo kit without knowing how it performs first? IMO, you should be able to list the pros and cons of each turbo kit before selecting one. Otherwise how could you possibly know which kit is best for reaching your goals?
With the exception of the HKS SC and the APS single Turbo, I have driven every SC and turbo kit currently available on the Z/G's. In addition, I have spent years asking questions about these kits and researching the topic. I feel that anyone that buys a kit without doing some of the research is buying something in the dark so to speak.
Good luck and again, listen to a lot of people who have experience with turbo kits. Hopefully you can muddle through all the information and make a choice that fits your needs.
Good luck,

Question: What twin turbocharger kit gains the most power bolted onto a stock car?
Answer: They all do, all (even singles in the case of a stock motor) can achieve around the same power on an otherwise stock 350Z/G35.
The best out-of-the-box kit out right now is the APS twin turbocharger kit.
I recommend that whatever kit you get, you get it tuned by a professional.
The most power potential probably goes firstly to SSR-Engineering/Speed Force Racing (the larger turbo version), secondly to GReddy, and thirdly to APS. (Ultimate Racing, Jotech, Power Enterprise, etc. are still undetermined)
There are advantages and disadvantages to each kit and i'd be happy to go over them with you through PM or email.
