Default 05 35th with T-netics & 3.9 Just a Couple ??

interested to see if anyone has a st kit specifically a turbonetics on a car with a 3.9 FD... if so what kind of time have you gotten with it, is 1st gear as bad as one would think.

also this is for mia or anyone else from turbonetics... Is the kit offered yet for the rev-up motor, ie. my 35th anniv... i was told locally that TS was working on the reflash for the 05 model year and with 06s being released id figure theyd have finished by now...

most of what i have read has said fi and 3.9 arent a good combo, that you'll be spending lots of time shifting down low.

I was slipping the clutch steady with FD/FI... I'd imagine 305's would hook up pretty good just hope your clutch will hold up when your trying to hook up from a dig. Suprisingly mine did but now grinds second lol.

from all previous cars ive ever raced in the 1/4 the shorter the gears no matter the setup the better they did in the 1/4 true they shifted more but its only because they could... seems like id be able to accelerate faster and trap higher... thats my main goal = 120 mph trap

well, based on all the other people with turbos including the turbonetics or APS single turbo who completely lose traction at around 4k or so because of the sudden huge amount of torque, I'd say the 3.9 isn't good with it. Maybe if you ran low boost and drag radials or slicks

redline350ZZ,
I'd be interested to know the effect, if any, it'll have on turbo performance since you're reducing the load on the motor somewhat by running taller gears..

Yup thats the plan........BFG D radials.. 275 ers....since I live so close to work and I dont launch except track time and cause racing stop light to stop light is dangerous and dumb IMO... but in a few days you will get the opinion of a average driver......

As for the kit on an 05 Track. Turbonetics will be doing R&D on an 05 Track with the 300 hp motor starting in Feb.

yea but its untested... people also say the 3.9's are not good for the 5at but its not tested either.

I remember when everyone at the vette forum was saying the 4.10's were too much for a h/c 4at but I know someone who daily drives one w/o any problems

IMO I don't see the 3.9 being used on a 5AT any worse than the 3.5 being used with a TT kit....

Yeah sorry...Turbonetics is working as fast as they can but they won't release anything that they aren't 100% is as safe is it can be. That means lots of road testing and countless dyno pulls. I wish I could say the Z/G are their only projects but they have a ton of other stuff they have to do also...

Hey MI 35th, Why don't you buy the TN tuner kit and get the Emanage Ulimate, fuel return, 440 cc injectors, and fuel pump. That way you can get it now and also get more power with a good tune? Good Luck.
