Default JWT or RPS

I'm sure this has been covered but what would you go with for a Turbonetics set up? The JWT clutch and flywheel set up or the RPS? and why???

If you plan on upping the horsepower at all then go with the RPS since Rob will be able to offer many more power options since they are a clutch/flywheel shop. If you don't plan on upgrading the turbo on the Turbonetics kit then it really doesn't matter.

I thought people said that the JWT clutch is really an RPS clutch with the JWT name on it? Is that true?

JWT is fine still stock feeling, chatter isn't that bad unless you stay under 2k rpms when full throttle. Holds 450whp or more. I've had it for 22kmiles and its still going strong

how is the pedal feel of these clutches? I'm at the edge of ordering one for myself too. The RPS and ACT had the worst pedal feels and they made me hate my car in my former experiences. Whats the most streetable / best holding clutch ?

Is the noise (chatter) thing with JWT real or a myth; or is it a bit like Vortech i.e varies from one to another.

Convinced myself (almost) to go JWT when I upgrade but impossible to get to hear one running on a 350 here in UK

My car stock did it just as bad. It's more related to the Throw out bearing than the clutch.

Yeah right enough - what we do see reported is a lot of variation in noise levels with stock clutch

Exactly, not a big difference at all. First gear low speed is the only time you can hear it besides at idle with the clutch out. Be a pioneer and be one of the first in the UK. You will enjoy it.

About the noise, heres the problem.

Its from the lightened material used. You only here it if you are way low in the rpms and the car has to stutter to go it chatters like crazy. But no one drives like that. I stay in 1st only when starting to roll after that im in 2nd and don't go to 1st til i have to stop. If you are easy on the throttle when below 2k or 1500 rpms it won't happen. But if you use a lot of throttle that low it will chatter hella loud.

i think there needs to be a stickied clutch post set up. this is popping up more and more now about which clutch to get for what power level and driveablity levels. if everyone could list their current power level and a personal evaluation of their set up it could save people alot of time and money. i know it would of for me!!

The FI post sticky could be augmented with clutch info; guess thats too difficult to do.

Means everyone posting it again but it would all be in one place and would be interesting seeing kit vs clutch

theres just getting to be alot of different clutches and combinations that can be done it would be good to file it all in one place cause they all will drive differently and good to get first hand info from people.
