18.7 Psi Whoa!!!!
The other night we decided to turn up the boost and see what happened, so we turned it up and datalogged some highway runs. We noticed that the boost went from 10.5 psi at 3700rpms to 14.7 psi at 4000 rpms, just 300 RPMS later
Needless to say 18.7 psi came on real quick and at 80mph in 3rd gear we broke the tires loose and began to go sideways...
Not cool..lol We only ran it to about 6000 rpms and got out of it quick, real quick..The car has a built bottom end and a 3" SFR exhaust, and is tuned using a UTEC.
The datalogs showed a few counts of knock at around 5000rpms but nothing after, even at 18.7 psi!! The AFR was 11.3-11.7 and just started leaning out to 12.3 at 6000 rpms where the injector duty cycle neared 90%+.
The car felt simply uncontrollable at 18psi and was most likely putting down well over 600hp based, since it was putting down 530whp at 14psi...
We plan on getting it to the dyno and tuning for 18psi and see what happens to the motor since we have two sleeved blocks sitting at the shop waiting to go in, with a set of fully worked heads..
