Default any problems with tt?

has anyone had any problems with their z after a tt install. i would love to go f/i beacuse i got this amazing deal on a greddy kit but im kinda sketchy just cause of the problems that i might run into later down the road. so i was just wondering if any of the fellow z'ers that run f/i if they have had problems

thanks

great deals are one thing, getting a complete kit is another. out of box, the greddy kit isn't providing everything you need for a safe reliable setup(relatively speaking). To the cost of the kit, make sure you are adding essentials you see here:
BOV 200.00
Fuel Pump 100.00
Boost controller 200.00 (500 if e01)
FPR 200.00
Manufacture & install of similar return to APS approx 200.00 (1000 if you go full return)
Tuning 200.00
Harness to get similar plug and play to APS and not cut up stock wiring 300.00
Ignition harness & diodes 25.00 (500 if you go J&S)

from my experience and what ive seen something will always go wrong not usually horrible but stuff wont go right the 1st, 2nd, 3rd time, ect. it takes time and trying different things to get it right. and zivman is right there is alot more behind a tt setup then just the kit. if u want a car that u dont have to worry about dont go FI. its not reliable enough IMO. i have a tt z and love it and would never want to go back to a stock z but my z is also in the shop alot. for example its been in the shop for the last month and a half being worked on and we still dont know exactly what the problem is . So its a trade off. just figure out what your goals are with the car and stick to that whether its gonna be a reliable daily driver or a monster z that in the shop off and on. good luck with your choice.

One that comes from the factory (like the TT supra, TT300Z, ect), and even in that case, don't expect it to be perfect.

IMO, APS is the best IMO (again, IMO). It provides everything you need out of box, fuel system, injectors, EMS, boost control, BOV, etc. Like I stated, the greddy with proper 3rd party components can be setup similar to the APS, but I still prefer the APS setup for a handful of other reasons;

1.) retaining stock impact beam
2.) smaller quicker spooling turbos
3.) oil lubed and water cooled turbos vs only oil cooled/lubed turbos on the greddy
4.) getting everything I need out of box, no need to buy 3rd party components

You can keep your eye on the JWT setup, but being it is still in 'prototype' status with no eta at this point, limiting you to 1 or two installers, and doesn't appear to be as complete as the APS.

a single turbo setup is probally the safest on low PSI but you will probally still have issues and annoyances with that but you may not. this is all just my opinion im sure people on the board may disagree with me

Man I haven't really been able to get on the gas for 2 months. Something else always comes up...I finally got it tuned saturday but the tuner tuned it too fckin lean around 4k rpms and now it's detonating. So now I had to buy an AEM wideband and now have to have that installed and get another tune. Not to mention, I'm not sure if my engine will be ok after it detonating. I really wish it would just work alright and I'd get to have fun.

I have an APS TT Z daily driver. If you run recommended boost level or lower, with a good tune, you don't really have to touch it or worry about it. There are always going to be small things that you will need to know that's different from the way it was, such as the amount of oil to be added during an oil change (increases due to the APS oil pan), where in the powerband to run if you need to save gas, where you need to squeeze the throttle so you don't lose traction and spin into a tree, etc... But the most important thing I think is to choose your clutch wisely, especially if it's a daily driver.
