Default SES codes?

Engine codes 1273 and 1284 keeps popping up. I keep clearning them and they keep coming back. I did a search and nothing came up for 1273. Only 1 thread had something about 1284. I checked the O2 plugs on the bung on the exhaust pipe and they are still there. What is wrong?

the 1273 means that the ecu is seeing a lean signal from the 02 sensor on bank 1 (passenger side, front 02 sensor). 1284 is a rich signal being sent to the ecu from the drivers side front 02 sensor. i had a mechanical problem that made this happen, and it didn't set any codes for me. i am guessing you have a bad 02 on one of the sides. only way to know for sure is to read all the voltages at idle. you can do this with the consult 2 or if you know the wires, you can test it yourself with a multimeter and compare the data from all 4 sensors. the rear 02 sensors are more of a redundant sensor to double check the first 02 sensors. check them all and find the one giving a crazy reading. or go to the dealer and they can figure it out in a few seconds, lol. good luck

wait to see what the dealer comes up with the consult 2. it should be very easy for them to tell the prob. the spacers will not help the condition you have.

His other post says he is running a turbonetics kit. O2 spacers shoudn't be an issue.

Thanks!

Yeah, I hear ya. Although if I ran over a weed I think it would tear my front bumper off!
