As I have mentioned earlier, I also have a rattle, but its not as bad as these other guys are mentioning and I am able to deal with it for the added performance. Depending on what you guys find out, how will this affect others that have the kit?

I have had the unit assessed by a place vortech referred me to, and doesn't sound good to them. I have several videos but i'll wait to post them until I hear back from vortech and see what they say about it. Just updating everyone.

Took my car to Performance Nissan today and had Tim take a look at it. He definately said it doesn't sound right. I'm going back on Tuesday and listening to another Vortech Z that will be coming in for service. We will compare our motors and come to a decision about what we should do then.

I am personaly going to buy a Vortech and in a big way this thread is responsible for my purchase, Jamie at Vortech went way out of his way to please what I would term as a serious whiner (Lawyers always are arent they?) He (Jason) wanted the product fixed but wouldnt send it in to be repaired instead he chose to complain about here on the open forum using a very slanted point of view to gain everyones attention. Jamie (Vortech) went to extent of taking a huge risk by sending out a replacemt before he even recieved the original purchase in his hands this is unheard of customer service and he deserves to be commended for it big time!!!
Also during my reaserch on the Vortech have found several threds about the noise and reducing it one is the idle increase, the other less know is to add piping to the intake side of the blower and relocate the filter to the other side of the radaitor framing creating a sort of CAI and also reducing the intake noise and the rattle, makes alot of sense to me....

OK I have had my vortech blower for 12k miles and was noisy but in a good way , whistling, and a litle pulley noise, but as of tonight there seems to be a clicking noise pretty loud almost like a baseball card in bicycle spokes. sounds exactly like the sound clip in the begining of this thread. Was this problem on his blower ever diagnosed? If so what was the reason for the clicking?

I had ordered a vortech kit from sharif on a friday. Then i started to read this thread on sat and seen the video clip. Came monday, i called and canceled the kit. I hate backing out of things but damn. I dont wanna pay that kind of money and have my car sounding like that in a few months. So i decided to go with turbonetics. I just got the kit in today and maybe ill have it installed by the end of this month.

Keep in mind there is no turbo that is smog legal in califonrina, before you change your mind read through this thread and see how Vortech really stepped up with a difficult customer and helped him eventhough he made it as difficult as he possibly could for them to assist him..

This is very true. If I wasnt in CA I would go turbo off the bat but bc of the cops, it's just way too hard to not get caught or to pass emissions. I have the vortech and I read up on the rattle and had my idle raised to 900 (dealer) and I have no rattles watso ever. I do have to tighten up the belt once in awhile but other than that it's perfect. The bypass is abit loud and sometimes annoying around town but some ppl like it and some ppl (like myself) dont so I purchased the filter and now I can hear my exhaust, lol. Also, have fun taking your turbo kit off and on every 2 yrs

Now its been a few days and its still normal wtf oh well. I understand that if you abuse anything its like a timebomb. nothiing is really failproof. GO VORTECH
