Default STI Pink Injectors = 550cc = PE 510cc ?

I've been trolling the STI forums about their stock injectors..

i think they're identical to power enterprises' 510cc (aka 550cc) and are a compelte drop in for us..

i've seen 4 injectors for $200 used, and i called around to some of the NASIOC forum venders and i can get a set of 6 new for around $525...

you think thats a good deal, considering PE is selling their 510s for like 18000 yen each..?

thoughts? concerns?

If you are talking about the USDM 04 and up model STI's then those are a side-feed configuration...

If you're referring to the JDM Pink STI injectors, then those were a top-feed config and I believe flow about 565cc

Chebosto: how do you intend to use these?

How about taking the stock WRX injectors and doing the mod that makes them 700's+(grinding off the flow restrictors).

i dont like the modification of any injectors,. besides. i dont nee 700+ ccs.

what i indend is a purposely built nice torquey 55xrwhp.. i'm not going for the highest rwhp. just something reliable and 1 bar boost.

i think i can accomplish that with just 550cc...

Chebosto: While I can't confirm they will drop in...it sounds like they shouullddd drop in, hehe.
I also forgot to mention that those STI pinks are pretty cheap as well, I believe ~$400

As for the 700cc grinding mod...it's not something we recommend. I believe the last time we tuned a Suby with those it was not fun at all. The spray pattern of the injectors can be inconsistent.

ok. i got verbal confirmation from my engine builder (howard @ Techno) is that the jdm sti will drop in, given i use the spacer kit that came with my PE TT kit. (he was unavailable this morning)

apparently PE uses the same STI injectors and just includes an adapter spacer kit. the harness clip ins are the same.

thanks for teh help Brainstorm....

Why don't you send your stock injectors out to Deatchwerks? They will send you 550's 650's or 750's for $350. But you need to have the stock ones, or he will charge an extra 150 on top of that.

I have the stock injectors modified by DeatschWerks to flow 440 in my car. He flow tests them and balances the whole set. You can't buy off the shelf injectors and have a balanced set. For $350 you can't beat it. 5 day turn around time. $150 core charge if you don't return your stock injectors.

Respect

update:

wha-lah:
pictorias

connectors:

holes:

the 'missing' collar

for comparison.. my PE 380cc

notice: Top of the PE, the spacer that is next to where the fuel rail would insert, also the black rubber piece near the bottom of the injector... aka RUBBER SPACER/Collar.

i'm going to search McMaster-Carr to see if i can find some rubber spacers to make those non-PE equipped people happy (see i can just take my spacers off my 380s and add it to the pink STI injectors.. while if you buy these off the shelf, you'll need the collar)

woopty woot!
