Default Turbonetics Viper Killer !!!

Well.... not really a kill. My friend came by today with his brand new 06 Viper and thought he would put my Turbonetics mod to shame. Well he didn't.

We went to a private road and had some fun. Results as follows.

1st run. From a stop. He got a car length on me from a stop due to my spinning tires in first and second . My 275 tires were no match for his 325. From that point on I was on his rear bumper and we were dead even. No one was pulling on anyone.

2nd run. From a 3rd gear roll 4000 rpm launch we were dead even. I had my wife in the car. He had no passenger. We were dead even till about 110 when we shut it down.

A set of 305/30/19's is going to change that. I'm also going to minimum camber in the rear. That should set me dead even with the Viper.

Save your money on TT kits. Stock block, Turbonetics w/ a UTEC, 440 injectors, a return fuel system and tuning by Sharif is a capable and killer setup.

Damn.... that was a lot of fun.

JET!

Much props bro. Indefinitely the same setup I'm going with. I'm curious if you can mention your suspension setup and how you are going to fit the 305's. I'd liek to go with a similar setup but will surely have to shave the inner fender.

Assuming you have 10.5" rears and 9.5" fronts, what will your complete tire setup entail?

Thanks for the inspiration as I'm still n/a but not for long.

From the dead stop he pulled on me. My front bumper was on his rear bumper. Once I hit third that's all the real estate he put between us. The wider tires will give me better traction off the line and his advantage is finished.... I hope.

My suspension setup is a set of D2 coilovers with 15/13 springs. The car is lowered 1"F and 1.25" R.

My rear wheels are 10.5" wide with a 28 offset. With that offset the 305 will fit with rolled/cut fenders. The right offset is the key.

My front setup will be 275 on a 9" wide wheel. Not sure if the offset yet. I have 31 offset now. But might need to push the fronts out more to a 25 offset for inner clearance.

Nice! With some DR's that would have changed from digs.

I just got my camber kit install finished today. My car is sitting downstairs with some serious knock knees. As soon as I have it aligned it's on to my next mod - widened stock 17's with et street radials.

Thanks !!!

The car dyno'd @ CPRacing @ 410rwhp 410 ft-lbs correctred on their DynoDynamics dyno. I'm thinking now that the dyno reads low in comparisson to SAE hp which is how they rate the Viper.

In regards to my dyno #'s and each cars power to weight ratio he should have pulled on me. But he didn't.

Not really bro...your weight 3300lbs and have 483hp and the viper weighs 3450lbs and has 510hp so It's about even as far as power to weight...driver's race....except the viper is geared for higher mph....and has a better susp. and fatter tires to help with launches...you should of raced alone..and since you wern't wheres the vid Good **** bro your cars a beast...

Nice kill, but I am more of a person that likes to demolish the competition rather than be dead even or even pull on them by one or two cars I like to pull serious real estate between me and them and then slow down and let the other car get side by side with me so I can see the look on the driver's face.

The look is something like this ------->

I'll tell you what. Once your mom gets her TT installed, give me a call and I'll come run you from a stop and on the highway. I don't care who drives. We'll post results. How does that sound?

My mom has a Z as well..... but she isn't going to TT it. She liked mine so much she bought one. 59 years old and cool as sh*t. Still can't sell her on forced induction though.

BTW.... he has 345 tires not the 325 like I posted. No wonder he got me from a dig.

I got some respect with my dyno charts. And now I'm building some street respect and the Viper was a good car to start with. Go straight to the top. My goal when building my car was to compete with a Viper. It was cool as sh*t when we were running and he wasn't gaining any ground on me.
