Cheston, the choo-choo-choo noise is definitely compressor stall/surge. The BOV may be adjusted a little too restrictively.

It's my opinion that a really well adjusted BOV should just make a "whooooosh" sound like a gas piston strut (car shock or door) being compressed.

That said, the "popular" sound from a BOV is that really high-pitched sneeze sound. I rode in a supercharged Corvette and at first I thought his shocks were failing until I realized it was his bypass valve.

i hope chris realizes that and doesnt do too many of these high boost runs w/o opening the BOV more...

 

Without knowing how high of boost he hits that BOV will sound diferently than some might expect as it is a 2 stage BOV where at low boost it recirculates the air and at high boost it dumps some to atmosphere, so it wont sound like a Greddy Type S which always vents to atmosphere.

 

The turbo's spooling sounds really loud but the bov just sounds like compressor surge. If you want a 'loud' bov, I'd get the type-S or the HKS SSQV...there's a few other ones that are pretty loud too but out of the ones I heard in person, the SSQV is the loudest...with a bird chirp sound to it.

I assure you that BOV sound is normal on the APS TT kit.

My BOV sounds EXACTLY like Chris's. I've drive two other APS TT Z's and they both sounded exactly the same too....

I only have a lowly TN kit, but my BOV flutters like that as well. You can hear it really well on the last run of my dyno video in my sig-I highly doubt thats compressor surge-just the nature of the BOV-much like the one in question.

 

Sit inside with me, it sure doesnt feel slow. I keeps pulling a pulling, 2nd gear 40mph to 60mph then hit 3rd thats when it pulls like crazy.

good because i plan on going FI and i want to be fast, but then again ive only been in my car , never a turbo z

 

i need to race a z that is turbocharged on my set up , just to see how bad it beats me

 

^^ I used to watch vids of speedo's online and thought the same. You just have to drive a turbo Z to believe it. I love the rush in 3rd and especially 4th, it still puts you in the seat and never stops pulling. Stock tune my car pulled to 140mph like nothing...

Here's a vid of me racing my buddies 05 GT with bolt-ons, and my other friend's turbo Infiniti I30. The 05 GT traps 108-109mph and the I30 traps 111-112mph. So the video should give you a pretty good idea of how hard your car would get pulled by a Turbo Z like maximumsportZ's.

Keep in mind also that both the cars I was racing stole the hit from me BAD. If it had been an equal start it would have been even more ugly.

well looks like T/N and APS blow off are similar. my sound like , just diferent pitch
