hmm. I do have 275/35's on 19's in the rear if that makes a difference? I'm assuming you guys aren't running stock rims and tires though...
Also, my rears are a month away from being bald.

Even the cars we tune to 380whp at stock boost feel incredibly fast and torquey. One thing to check, is your wastegate. In 3rd gear, starting at 2500rpm and WOT...how soon do you have full boost? Try this again in 4th gear.

If your boost is building really slowly, the original shop that installed your kit (not GT Motorsports), may have forgot to install those collars on the wastegate flange. If those are not installed, your turbos will spool really slowly.

Give us an idea of how your boost builds up. You should definatately be at full boost by around 4200rpm at the absolute latest, and usually much sooner...just depends on your exhuast system, your engine, load, gear...etc.

I don't normally take off @ 2.5k in 3rd gear...let alone 4th but I went out and did it like Sharif said right now and I know why I don't.....1. it takes forever to spool and 2. Hoses get popped off! (I haven't found which hose it is but one of the hoses has a small piece chunk of it ripped off like it was rubbing against metal but it's at an angle where I can't see if there's a hole.
It felt really laggy all the way til 5k where I just let off kuz I heard something pop. (99% sure it was a turbo hose kuz i've had this problem for a while). It felt like it really wanted to go but something was holding it back.
It didn't full spool til about 5k where it hit .64 kpa and @ 4.2k rpm it was at .56kpa. The boost controller isn't the most accurate but you get the picture.
Also, Sharif how would I check that? I'm sure I'd have to get under the car to see if it's in or not? Do you have any pics to guide me?
Thanks in advance.

edit: 2.5" APS exhaust, kinetix HF cats, Crawford plenum.

400rwhp never broke loose in 2nd in my car... 470rwhp would just barely spin the top of second but not bad enough to not stay in the throttle. now at 570rwhp, its traction issues in any low gear

What tires are you running? I have 285 dunlop sp9000's out back and can spin em til I hit 3rd. But again I havent dyno'ed yet so I dont know my hp #. Mods are SP cams,SSV intake, exhaust, clutch/flywheel,pullies, APS TT 8lbs.

at that time i was running 275/30/19 S03s. However, I was always racing on grooved concrete rather then asphalt. Now that I think back, on regular asphalt roads at 470rwhp it would light them up pretty damn easy.

So I just dropped it off at GT and they're gonna fix the hose (after they find which one is busted) and check the collars. I doubt the collars are missing but I hope something isn't right. I feel rather dissapointed in the car after spending so much money into it. I guess if I wanted so much hp I should have got something with more power and bigger engine to begin with. I still think my car looks damn good and is pretty fast but not as fast as I 'thought' it would be.

I seriously think something is wrong with your car bro. Anyone that has gone TT will most likely have great things to say. The amount of power your making is almost equivalent to Vipers and Z06 vettes. It should no doubt be a fast car and it should definitely feel like it. Wait till they fix it and re-dyno to confirm that you are indeed making the amount of power you posted. Chances are something popped off or came loose after the initial dyno. If you aren't happy with a boosted Z chances are you won't be happy with too much else.

I agree...I think something was amiss with the original install. If you arent reaching full boost until 5000rpm, then something is definately not right. Maybe there are some other leaks/torn couplers, or your wastegates are missing those collars. Unfortunately, you have to remove the wastegate to check.

Road temperature makes a huge difference as well. In the summertime, I can usually hook up in 3rd gear, pertty cleanly. On cold winter roads, I smoke them in 4th, and its a total joke in third.

If you want to really feel the tq, take a ride in a ST Z.

so they actually have to take off the wastegates to check for them...hmm. I'm sure when they put in the wastegates they put those in though. I don't think they would just leave extra parts out but who knows. Let's just hope something is missing/torn/etc.

Good luck with your setup. for reference, I dynoed my car last week and made 450rwhp (APS TT, exhaust, testpipes, plenum, with stock block at 10psi). I can't get traction in lower gears; it can spin 1st and 2nd all the way through and 3rd is pretty slippery too. Even 4th spins a bit. I have street tires, stock size.

Okay, all together: "You need good tires".

Later,

Your just getting used to the power. Sit your car aside for a weak and drive a 4 banger, then take your Z out for a spin. I bet you'll have tq then.

Cold days in FL I'll spin 1-2 and some of 3rd.

On hot days I'll spin 1st, but not as much in 2nd. I think temps play a big factor.
