Default Engine missing and throwing a code ...

So I go to get on the highway in 3rd, floor it, hits what feels like the rev-limiter but it's reall early (~6100ish) and from that point onwards the engine is missing really badly ... it sounds like a damn subaru right now ...

Then it threw a code so I'm off to the dealer tomorrow to see what the hell is up ... I am really hoping it is just something like a bad plug or something.

I'll keep you all informed, hopefully it is nothing serious as the Stillen setup has been so reliable.

It seems that one of the plugs has a 0mm gap ... probably from a piston hitting it ........

What is the usual life span of a NGK iridium plug ??

Why on earth is your piston hitting it???? If this were so then you have a bigger problem than your plugs. NGK iridiums should last 30k miles or more. I would just change them out every 15k miles and inspect every 5k miles.

We are not 100% sure what happened to the plug, all we know is that the top bent part of the contact (not sure what it's called) has been bent down so that it is touching the other part of the contact ... I'll post pictures later once I get my car back.

So, either something hit the plug OR it melted itself shut ....

The plugs currently have 20k on them so I'm sure it's about time to change them out.

Let me guess, it was cylinder #5 or #6... Might need to richen up your A/F -- 5 and 6 tend to run lean with the stock plenum. If you don't fix it soon, the next step in the failure progression is a cracked piston.

There is some one esle on this forum or G35driver . That had the same problem with the Stillen SC . Plug gap was 0 . More than likely detonation is slamming that gap closed
