Default Just got my car back and.....

Today, I got my car back from my shop.

added JWT S2 cams, CJM fuel return, 550cc injectors, AAM oil pan spacer and the Stillen brake master cylinder stiffener.

The car pulls like crazy after 4.5k !!!

Idle is a little shaky but no problems.

But on my way home tonight, the SES light goes on

Never had it on before.

What can it be ?

Thanks !

So IF it's a mis fire, I'm ok right ?

but I'll go back on tuesday to make sure.

It's just that even with all my mods I never got an SES light.

I guess I just got a little scared

Thanks !

cams always seem to do misfire codes, and it makes sense since the car is firing differently than the stock ECU was designed to understand

I'd consider it normal

My car throws the code ( random misfire code ) about every three months. It was doing it more often but it seems the ECU is learning the changes it's seeing with my after market cams. Go to Auto Zone and they will let you borrow a code reader. After reading the code you can clear it. Unplugging the negative battery cable for 15 seconds will reset the ECU also...but I have found that clearing it with the code reader seems to keep it ( SES ) away longer.
The problem I am having is after turning my VDC off it still kicks in when I go WOT or even close to it. My brake light and slip light will illuminate and after awhile the brake light goes off but not the slip light. I guess there is no way to completely disengage the VDC without messing with the ABS system? Anyone one else want to chime it with experience?

I get the same problem with the SES light... it has come on twice since I had the car done. The first time I just disconnected the negative battery terminal and no problems and about 2 months later it came on again so, I was going to get it checked this time and it shut itself off after a couple of days. The car seems to be running great so no worries, I guess.

Mine use to do the same thing. You can disconnect the vdc by unplugging it under the center console.

If I unplug the negative battery cable to reset my ECU,

Wouldn't that effect my tune from TS ?

No it won't. Some of the long term fuel trims the computer has started running will change but it won't effect it very much.

You doing all that with a flash from someone far from you, brave man.

I guess I could understand more if you drove to someone and in house they flashed your ECU then a mail in.

Once again brave, all that money spent seems another form of EMS would be the better bet.

But to each their own.

Good luck, and hopefully it is just the common code.

I know I know.

I'll be upgrading to the EU soon and have it tuned.

I'll have about a month off in may-june, so I'll come down to the States for the tune (not sure where yet).

Ok...

So it's a P0183 code

Fuel temperature sensor circuit high input.

We reset it.

What caused this ?
