Question Turbo on A/T ?

1st: Shut up, I did a search but all I get is a 404 error for some reason. If u dont have something useful to say... jus' hit the little X on the top right of the window.

2nd: Thinking of putting a Turbo on my '06 A/T. I'm ganna wait until most of my warranty expires though. However, has anyone put a turbo on their A/T? Does it cause any problems? Not going crazy with TT or anything super big. Staying a bit conservative... but a Turbo none the less. Any advice would be appreciated. Was thinking about SC but that hood is jus' so damn ugly. I hate it on Mustangs, so I REALLY hate it on my Z.

This thread was on the first page of FI forum. Guess you didn't look hard enough. Lots of good info in it from many people with FI on their auto Z's.

Yeah dude. You really need to look thru several pages on here first. You dont have to swap out the hood just to get a SC. The ONLY SC which requires you to swap hoods is the Stillen. I have the Vortech with the stock hood. I am not going to be any help with the turbo aspect as I have the SC!

you can go with TN when they will have kit for 06,i dont know if you can fix it but iam sure there is no prob fixing TN AT on 06

there is no issue unless you go with higher boost but with stock boost there is no prob at all

Lots of good information and shared experiences from those of us with FI on the 5AT. The problems you will find mostly are related to the 1-2 shift in full auto mode at WOT. Furthermore, you'll want to consider upgrading the valve body in the 5AT as soon as possible for quicker, firmer shifts.

Of course, you probably could have found all this info easier IF we had a separate section for Drivetrain or Automatic Transmissions. It's been suggested to the Admins, Mods and all the others but nothing yet. This site is getting agonizing.
