Default Doing it right

So I have been reading a lot on this board about doing FI the right way. I am interested in going down the FI road, but only if its done right. I have seen a lot of posts that talk about "built motors" and quote prices ranging from $10K to $30K. So for those of you who did it right, what did you do to build up your motor, and what did it cost you?

the big question is can you do the work yourself, or need to pay to have it done?

the built motor itself won't cost you $30K, but after all is said and done between the install, built motor, TT kit, clutch, exhaust, gauges, etc. you are looking at a good $20K or more depending on how crazy you get with the build.

Well I have never rebuilt an engine, so I would probably need to have someone do that work. I may be able to bolt on the turbo's, but would probably have it all done at a trusted shop, since I would be afraid of messing something important up. Getting it tuned will rewuire a dyno, so I will have to pay for that also.

If you r not sure that you can install it correct better spend the extra 1 to 2k for the install on the turbo kits. Because then you install in wrong and you’ll mess up your built motor and also will have down time to fix it again and pay more.

If you have the money pay for it. If you know how to install it then go for it.

it's VERY easy to spend in excess of 20k for the project as a whole...
