Default Quick fuel question

If I disconnect my vaccum line to my fuel pressure regulator am I correct in that the pressure should rise ~10psi? If it doesn't rise then the regulator is bad? This is done with the car running

It wont rise 10psi...probably about 5-6psi. But yes, it should rise when you disconnect the vaccum line.

Ok i disconnected the line. it shot up 3-4psi and then went right back down there where it was at when the line was conneted. Is that what it's supposed to do or should it stay at the higher psi?

It should stay at the higher PSI. Maybe your fuel pump is taking a crap on you, which would explain the lean-ness.

hmmmmm starting to look that way...is there a way I could test the fuel pump? Like with a meter? Also if the pump was failing would that also be the reason I cant adjust the pressure at the regulator?
