hmmm.. that's even less than I paid on the original Turbonetics group buy. They're basically giving these things away.

Are they going to stop production on the APS ST or something? It seems like a lot of shops are selling off old stock with the new drop in pricing.

I think APS thought they would sell more of these kits. I think they have a TON out and are trying to get rid of stock. Once numbers go down the price will go back up. This is a GREAT deal for those looking for a kit right now!

I don't have vested interest here as I don't have any kits as most come in for TT, but to give you my 0.02 from experience with APS products. I highly suggest purchasing from an authorized dealer and if you have one near you buy and install it there. This makes any warranty or shortage issues much easier to handle as for anything you will have to go to dealer you purchased from.

IMO you cant go wrong with a known and widely trusted place like GTM. But Ive heard bad things about Vivid and $700 isnt worth headaches BS. Piece of mind goes with spending more sometimes.

APS lowered the price to $4999 retail, IIRC, so street prices will probably be a tad lower. There is quite a bit of APS single T on the market, so its definately a buyer's market.

Cost on the single turbo kits is well over $4,200. Only possible way is that an APS dealer went out of business or could not sit on the kits and is wholeselling the kits below their cost and taking a substantial loss. You won't see an APS authorized distributor selling the kit for $4,200. Vivid isn't and GT Motorsports is...

I don't recommend buying that kit from a non athorized dealer. You will have no warranty what-so-ever. Even if you have it installed by an authorized dealer, you will still not have any warranty. Unless your a DIYer and have experience install such items, (the APS ST is not for the first timer) spend the MSRP. Good free advice.

ive actually heard different stories, some shops/people have been telling me that APS is dropping the ST because of low sales... then other shops/people said that they are just dropping the price in order to get a better share of the ST market

I just spoke to Dynocomp here in Phoenix, they are an APS dealer. They told me they have stopped selling the ST kits because they have had quite a few problems with them. He also said he believes that the price drop is because they are going to discontinue them.

Yes I have because there are that many active ones about the APS ST kit right now. Please don't get my wrong, I am not trying to talk $hit about this kit. I think APS builds great stuff and the reason I was calling was to ask about having them take off my SC and put this kit on.

I don't consider something that an authorized APS dealer tells me to be "gossip at best". Only APS knows if they are going to discontinue it. Also don't take what one place says to be fact. This kit has shown to be great for many people.

I wish I would have gotten more details now. What he told me was they had had quite a few problems with the installation and it was taking almost as long as the TT kits to install. He said the kit was not very high quality and was not made the same standards that APS builds their other kits to; it is mediocre. It was made to be an entry level system and not working out for them. I asked about the price drop and he said that he believes that APS lowered the price to move out their existing inventory so they could discontinue it.
Again I am not trying to make anyone mad or offend anyone. I just thought this would be interesting news coming from an APS dealer.

Well everything seems to be more speculation than actual fact from APS. Anyways I’m just trying to hook members with a great price on a great kit, AND I can provide the same support as a regular dealer. A cheap price doesn’t mean cheap service.

Thank you

Thanks for the additionnal info TIMMAH, i'm really looking into that kit myself, I was wondering if it was because of the location of the turbo in the setup perhaps...
