Default My FI Process

Well just finally picked up my car today from Flemington Infiniti where they installed my APS ST Kit. They also installed a JWT Clutch & Flywheel, Defi BF Gauges, AEM Wideband, and new spark plugs. It cost me a pretty penny at $2700 but I think its well worth it as they are going to be backing up all there work.

I then went to Mufflex (www.mufflex-performance.com) after I picked my car up this morning, got a custom y-pipe made so I could put the APS 3" True Dual Exhaust on the single kit. It came out well paid $300 and I was on my way. The car isn't tuned yet but its running nice. Been boosting it all day today having lots of fun.

Thursday I am going to Car V2 in Wilmington, DE to get tuned I am looking for 400rwhp and 410 tq. So far the whole process has been decent, little delays here and there but I'm having a blast.

Check out the thread "how to do twins right the first time" as it has a lot of fantastic information surrounding an engine build process...

APS kit should equate to an APS dealer installation, especially if, like doug stated, you have MRC nearby.

I am curious to see your results from custom fabbing a y-pipe. From what i have seen, even with a great setup like the 3", the custom reverse Y-pipe can F' everything up. I would still recommend the APS ST exhaust to any potential APS ST owners.

All i know is this. I am goign to say the Y-pipe worked well .

Make fun all you would like for me being childish. However tonight I raced a guy about 22 I believe whos been driving stick his whole life alogn with many high horsepower cars. Known aroudn my town for being a good driver.

Him- 2006 GTO 6.0 Liter 400hp/ 395tq + Exhaust, Headers, Intake - 3700 lbs + (1) 110 lb rider

Me- 2006 G35, APS ST untuned running rich as anything might have even hit 9.8:1 one time. APS 3" Exhaust custom y-pipe - JWT Clutch & Flywheel, never launched with it driving it for one day.

Results- we line up in this commercial building area exactly 1/4 mile strip. He says he will tell me before he starts the honk, he doesn't catches me off-gaurd but I did my best to launch the sucker. Bottom line, I win by 3 car lengths. I would say the y-pipe is working well especially while the car is untuned.

GTO is no match for a ST Z. You should easily have 2 cars on him by the shift into 3rd

It should be a bit closer with IHE. I know blake (APS ST at 406whp) ran a GTO from a dig and the GTO was no match, not even close through 3rd gear

Zivman, as long as he goes to a reputable shop, he doesnt necessarily HAVE to goto an APS dealer. Sure MRC would have been my first choice in that area, but sounds like the install and experience for him has been satisfactory.

They were recommended to me by a few freinds... I had them do an exhaust on my maxima and was very satisfied with price and quality. And a yes on the mandrel bender.
