I should be installing my oil cooler tomorrow. I have the link to all the parts I got in my favorites at home, I'll post it later.

I just think the car will run much better with cooler oil since that's what we're using as the sole lubrication/cooling of the turbo, which gets insanely hot.

Yeah, my bf's car is running at like 210 after 10-20 mins of hard driving... trying to find out whats the norm or how to address the issue.

That's nothing. You can run to 240 - 250 and be relatively safe. I've recorded peak temps of 270 at the track. That was before I added the oil cooler. I haven't really run it this summer, it's too damned hot here.

i guess you must just suck at searching... i really don't understand whats so hard... you type in what you are looking for.. then you keep skipping through pages till you find what you want..

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....oil+tempreture

boom.. the thread is even titled Oil Temp... all i put in the search was oil tempreture.. nothing fancy.. nothing special..

also your boyfriend should have asked these questions before he pulled off the lot with his car..

when i picked up my car.. i got a notepad and pen.. and i asked Julian all the averages my gauges should read and what were the trouble spots on the gauge.

Julian said the gauge shouldnt hit 210 and it is so I was inquiring!

Nice manners.

well its interesting that your boyfriend posted in one of your last threads that you get all the attention when you post so he has you post for him.. i personally don't appreciate that fact and i also don't believe you are even searching...

you just post a topic and wait for the guys run in to your rescue..

if Julian said the gauge shouldn't hit 210.. you should call him up... tell him.. then set aside some time to have him check why its doing that.

Julian is your tuner and installer and if anyone is more intimate with the car its Julian... everyone here can let you grasp at straws.. but Julian is the only one that can answer the questions you need answered

I am posting this for my bf because he doesnt work in an office like me... Im not waiting for anyone to come rescue me, this is a forced induction forum, where people discuss things, sorry if that bothers you... i really dont need you to believe whether i searched or not, i know i did; you see cause i was there! Ive been researching all morning.. and as for the installer, sure you are right but there are plenty of people who have TN ST on 350Z [hence the existence of such a place] and may have something offer via their own experiences....

Well Doug, I apologize that double standards bother you but there are many that favor men over women as well......

Anyway I told him I didnt want to start that other thread... but I cant refuse his wishes, lol.

I started this on my own after not really finding what I was looking for via the search function.

FWIW ... The search function is much better for Premeir Members like yourself than it is for her. That 's why you found it and she didn't. It's not her, it's the site....

Back on topic - the "correct" or "ideal" oil temp doesn't change based on your mods. If you track alot or turbo your ride, you need an oil cooler. BTW - 210 deg sounds about right after spirited driving without an oil cooler. Mine runs around 185 cruising, 195 stop and go, 235 on road courses.

it also depends on where you tap for the oil temp. I've noticed some people with the oil sensor in the pan show lower temps than other who have it tapped on the pressurized side. I have my reading at the turbo on the oil inlet for the turbo. I usually see 205-215 during normal driving and 225-245 at the track...

ding ding ding! we have a winner ... cut her some slack. Only Premium members have the capability to do Boolean searches. If you're a non-premium member typing in 'Oil Temperature" will give you searches for oil and Temperature but not both.

Yea, that's not the only thing that sucks on this site for non Premium members. It's a damn shame that with all the vendors and pop ups on every other word, the basic functionality still sucks more than any other Z forum.
