Default Quarterly FI Meet!!

MrA Turbo, had a great thought to put together a meet for Forced Induction people throughout the country. There are so many of us here that do soooo many things in and for this community, I think it is a great idea to see if we can get four meets a year together to meet, dyno, maybe track, and hang out. Obviously there is much more planning but the other thread where it was mentioned was closed so I thought I would start another one.

I think this is the place and time to start thinking about it and putting together ideas. I am MORE than willing to take a couple cross country trips to meet up and try out some other tracks and meet the people you see here on the boards.

This is just to get the ball rolling here so everone post your ideas comments and concerns. I think spring, summer, fall, and winter would be great. Somewhere out here in Cali, somewhere on the East Coast, somewhere in or around Texas, and somewhere in the Illinois or Indiana area.

If maybe we start talking now we can figure this out for the spring. Just throwing it out there for everyone to talk about and see what will and what wont work.

I've discussed putting together a Florida FI meet at a local drag strip in the past, but we've got so many events coming around that I can barely find time to plan anything. There certainly are enough boosted 350z's down here.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it. I'd love to go but that week is crunch time for school.

ZFest in Orlando is on October 7th, and we're planning to have The Run in Tampa in early December. If I were to be in for an FI meet in florida it would have to be early next year (while it's cold, no doubt).

We are down, and help sponsor such an event if it is planned correctly with other companies, sponsors, and participants. Would be great if we can have an annual meet like Supras, Vettes, and Porsche owners.

We all have a Like Minded passion for the Z and G. I have attended the National Z Meets and they are fun with the old 240s, 260s and such, yet I believe we have a New era of cars with the VQs.

Let's keep the ball rolling and see what happens and can progress. Keep us posted.

The annual ZDAYZ event at tail of the dragon draws about 200-300 Z owners from all over the country....not just FI though.

I like the idea of having one annual meet, as everyone's schedules are so busy, and there are plenty of local events in most areas to keep people entertained.

Just throwing out some random thoughts, but one annual meet in the spring/summer, located directly in the center of the USA would be perfect. I even like the idea of meeting...literally...out in the middle of nowhere. I prefer that...less cars...less cops, and more open roads for playing around with the FI crowd. Possible somewhere in TX or Missouri??? I am really bad with the map.

Forged Performance would be happy to sponsor this event, and provide some nice gifts.

If you guys think Chicago is a nice central location, I can certainly help get something together and the space setup....

Sport Compact Car used to do their "Trek to Texas" every year. The Supras do something like it every year. No reason we couldn't do the same. They set up a track day, dyno day, and a 1/4 test for them. I like the setup they have..

Awesome idea Sharif. I think this is spot on to what could work best for everyone and busy schedules. I certainly love the idea of fewer other cars, open roads, etc.

Sounds like this is something that is going to work, let me take a loot at some logistics and talk to a few people and see what we can come up with.

I think a couple of the ideas from what the Supra guys do is good. 1/4 mile runs, dynos, meet, and road track would be awesome! I will kepp everyone posted and see what I can come up with.

Yes, the Supra guys come here to Texas every year. This past year they had a meet, dyno day, road course event and a drag racing event. It was like 3 or 4 days of events.
