Default Aps Twin Turbo Kit

Is it true that an APS TWIN TURBO KIT delivers 420 wheelhorsepower on a stock engine? And will it last or will the engine blow up without any modofocations?
How much will it cost me to install a kit like that?

the engine won't necessarily blow unless you abuse it. but there is always that risk if you run it without a built motor. if you're gonna go twins, you might as well do it right the first time instead of wasting money in the long run.

I have that set up on my stock motor (5at) and have 380 to the wheels on 6.5 psi (instead of 8) and with my cats still on. I detuned it just for extra protection. So far, it has been great! The kit costs around $8000, and installation is around $3000. The shop who installed mine charges between $1500 - $2000 for installation and they are great!

If you stay in 380 rwhp max. you will not have a problem........probably, but if you are thinking in 420-430 rwhp ,around 500 hp crank ,is too much for stock internals, specially the rods.

I'm pushing 401 on a mustang dyno. The kit was installed at 30k. I now have 19k on the kit and still going strong at 10 psi. I had a resent compression and leak down test and the motor was good and strong.

everyone is sooo wussy. i've been running 8psi, and sometimes more for just under a year, been through 300+ tires on the car, slammed redline a few hundred times a week, the car has been over 160 mph, and it dynoed 407whp uncorrected in a room that was 105 degrees last week. the very first time we dynoed it, it made around 425wtq. if my motor has lasted 35k miles turboed, and another 25k+ before the turbo, the vq can take it. i doubt many people beat their cars as much as i do.

pay attention to detail, have it tuned by someone who is really good with 350zs, and it will last. have it tuned by some guy for 20 bucks who tunes hondas on the side, and it will probably blow up. i think most 350zs blow up because people use out of the box tunes.

if you can't afford to buy another motor if yours blows up though, i suggest you sit on the sideline.

The APS TT blown motors I've read about on the forum were from guys pushing 440+whp with aggressive 9.5+ psi tunes. I'm running on the out of box tune at 7 psi and my A/F is a solid 10.5-11.0 at WOT. Very little chance of my motor blowing.

I haven't had my car dyno'd yet but I'm guessing she's putting down around 360whp. The car burns rubber like nuts in 1st and 2nd with 275's. I really don't understand why stock block ppl aren't satisfied at that power level.

Peter at APS said they haven't had one blown motor in 30+ installs. Why? Because they keep the power level below 400whp. Do the same and you're engine will likely last longer than you'll keep the car.

My motor had a hard 38K with numerous times down the track with every NA mod you can think of. Now it reads 48K since TT. I'm pushing 430rwhp @ 9psi on dynojet. Some have no known me for my racing as I've posted quite a few videos up, which clearly shows how hard I run this car. I've hit 6900rpm redline many times even 7K at times as I had me ECU flashed to 7100rpms limit.

Shes still running super strong with perfect 11.1-2 wideband. Ever since I've got this done I have gained a new respect for the VQ block with stock internals. Like others say I think it comes down to who installs and tunes the kit, thats an area I would not cheap out on.

My #'s are identical... I only have about 7K miles on the kit so far, but it is running strong with no problems at all on the stock block.

can you take an audio clip (non-dyno) of your APS TT w/ the 3" exhaust? i'm trying to decide if i can go with the APS extreme (since German law requires less than 95dB -- even on the Nordschlife!)

thanks!!!
