My aussie 350zed
Hi Guys, a new memebr from down under have been reading your site and love lots of it. I have a 2004 Track that i have been working on for 12 mths. I have started my mods work for racing. I have a kamaizke 3" mandel bent exhaust and headers, have lightened the fly wheel, Ohlins coil overs allround 20"volk Gt-7 rims 345mm cross drilled dics front standards rear, shorten the gearbox, brake lines, nismo clutch front spolier-which im not really liking, rear wing like the porshes, not a huge fan of either but being on this side of the world dont get lots of choices. Its currently pushing out 218kw rear wheels.
If any of the forum readers can help with a few things: Firstly the next big thing i want to do is engine upgrade. I have read lots and lots and would love to hear from anyone that has there zed supercharged and what engine mods they have done internally and also ones who have supercharged and not altered anything. I dont like the idea of Turbocharging for two reasons, one is i am track racing and hate the lag of turbo charged cars and the unreliablity of them, having previously owned a supra and had lots of reliablity problems. So if anyone can give some insight into supercharging the z i would be appreciative of all comments good or bad.
Thanks

Welcome JJC, Im an aussie too, born and raised in sydney, but now living in Los Angeles, CA. Yeah, im also looking into forced induction for my Z, but taking the alternate route, single turbo. goodluck with the build bro. happy modding.
I am aiming to have the quickiest in oz, ridemy. I have done most of the hard work and now the engines turn. I have 40k to do it so im sure i can pump out some real horsies...like im looking to get 500 and more!! Good to see some ozzies tamin the Yanks!! Well keep u posted on the developments and my racing!
Try driving a twin turbo 350Z before condeming it to having too much lag. There are plenty being used for track days here stateside.
The supercharger options for the Z are also used for track use, however there are a significantly smaller number of supercharged zed's, compared to turbo, that are making the kind of power you are looking for.
In fact there is no one I know of making 500kw, ~625hp, w/ a supercharger.
Where are you @ in AU?

Being you are in australia, get a hold of APS and have them setup your car with a full engine build. They could have you setup with 500, 600, 700+ whp
Thanks everyone for there input. Im from Brisbane on the East Coast. The biggest problem here is getting it at the right money. There talking for engine build, Twin turbos and all the extra bits and pieces i wont get change out of $80000. Then i have heard the problems associated with the twin turbos melting engines and cranks etc etc if you dont do the internals. My reasons for the SC are simply money. I dearly would l0ve to spend 80k but dollars and cents(sense) come into the equation. I will upgradethe zed when the new GTR is released i would almost think...or head further up the tree to a porsche or maybe even a ferrari. I want more than anything if i do the zed to keep it reliable for trackdays. Thanks
