Awesome find Zilvia! Those are the best pics I have seen yet from the event. If anybody else knows where to find pics from the event, please let me know. I wasn't there to take my own .

Heard the Nascar guys were having a hard time with the Turbo cars because they weren't use to the power-band.

But after a bit, they got use to it. A couple mentioned they might build their own drifter cars now? lol

Sick! Thanks Rookie!

35oZephyR - Thats pretty much how it went lol. I don't think they minded the powerband on my car too much since it starts boosting so low, but it was slim pickings tire wise at Falken so I ended up with a 285/30/18 corded Michelin Pilot Sport Cup R-Compound up front, and a 255/35/18 Falken street tire in the rear . That probably wasn't very fun to try and drift on with 550whp.

Okay, completely off topic but what wheel and rim setup do you have on that beast? They look sick!

So, I bet that was a good time!! And yeah your wheels and tires look amazing, actually your whole car looks amazing and apparently it's not just for looks. So how did the event go? I'm not sure I really understand what went on, looks like there were a lot of spectators though!

This event was called "Drift Vs. Grip" and it was a charity event for the Casey Kahne foundation. It brought some top NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers out, as well as the D1 drift drivers for an exhibition/charity event.

These wheels on Mike B's (350ZNV) car are Nismo LMGT4's 18x9.5" all around that we powder coated flat black.

Ehh, its no biggie. I am just happy my car was chosen. Besides, how much can you really complain about free tires?

Forgot all about this Thread Zilvia Started...

All Good...

Repost..

As you may know, we have been getting more and more involved with Drift and have met some great folks.
After Co-Hosting a Drift-Day, Naoki from the Drift Association asked if we wanted to participate in the Drift VS Grip Showdown at Irwin-dale...
We of course jumped at the opportunity and brought two VRT Star Cars for the event.

350zNv's Modified Featured "Project Double Down Car"

and

Eagle1's White Beauty whom has graced the pages of both Sports Compact and C16 Auto-style.

So, Last week, we were in the mix with the greatest Drifters in the world and Champion NASCAR CUP racers.
350zNV's car was a hit and NASCAR's Robby Gordon, Casey Mears, and Scott Wimmer literally went out to learn to Drift.
Thanks MB for letting us have some fun with Your Baby. Hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed making it.

Special Props to:

Mike B (She Ran Great), Ed Reeser (No Ed we didn't drift your beauty, she just looked pretty in the pits) Scott, Frick, and Gary (NM Drift)

Thanks to:
Scott Wimmer
Robby Gordon
Casey Mears
Falcon Tire
JWT - Jim and Clark
Taka - Will build you a sick Formula D Car ASAP

Diane (NASCAR)
Jay - Sports Compact
Steve Levy- C16
Derek - DSport
Mike - Modified
Bob and Tammy
Viet, Ralph, and Beau - Drift Day
Brian at Mackin
Tanner Foust (looking to sweeten the ride soon)
M. Smartt - Photos Drift Day
And More.

Peace
